Thinking Ahead…
Posted on October 11, 2010One of the many blessings I get from my Church is getting to work in the nursery. No, really, I enjoy it. Of course, we only have one child in the nursery at the moment, but that’s here nor there. I was working the Sunday School hour, until recently. The last three weeks, I have worked during the 11 o’clock service. There is a little girl who generally helps during that hour, whoever is working in the nursery. She likes the 2 year-old we currently have in the nursery…
Anyway, the 2 year-olds mother is pregnant again (number 8, CAN.YOU.BELIEVE.THAT?)) and is due in February. So the aforementioned little girl who likes to help in the nursery says to me, “Miss Jo, when is her new baby coming?” I tell her the due date (February 17) and she replies, “Oh, I am going to be gone that day.” So I ask her why. “Papa and Grandma are taking me to Florida that day”, she says matter-of-factly. So I said, “They are taking you that day? I don’t think so because they are leaving in January for Florida, Love.”
So we discussed when and where they were going and all that. Then I told her we were invited too, don’t we are going, but we were invited too. We were actually going to go last year for an Orlando vacation, but alas we did not. And I don’t think it’s going to happen this year for us either. I don’t think we will be doing anything like that for a while. But, I would kinda like to make it to Florida at least once…
Papa and Grandma…
Posted on August 19, 2010The camp director’s mom and dad (grandma and papa) live here at camp most of the time now. The cabin they built them this last year is quite a bit smaller than the house they own downstate. As a compromise for moving her into a smaller house, he has promised to take her to Florida for a few weeks during our cold winters.
I guess they rent/lease a condo that is near Disney World. They have invited us to come and stay with them some time and take the girl to Disney. Since we wouldn’t have to pay for a hotel/motel, we can save a little money. There are so many different Disney vacation packages, though, that is is really hard to pick one!! I have never been to a Disney park, so I am really excited that we might be able to go!!
Carry On =)
M-I-C-K-E-Y, M-O-U-S-E….
Posted on March 30, 2010Growing up, one of the most exciting things I could think of was one of those Disney vacations. We never took one. We went to Cedar Point and Sea World in Ohio…Took a lot of camping trips, but never went to Disney. UNTIL I MOVED OUT!!
Yeah, My parents took my youngest sister to Disney after I moved out of the house. What a jip!! I keep trying to convince Buster that we need to go. He says maybe someday!! I don’t know, now that I’m older, I think it may be a little over rated, but I still wouldn’t mind going!!
Vacation…
Posted on March 08, 2010Before Buster and I decided to do God’s will for us and move out to Fort Faith Camp, we had never taken a real vacation, nope, not one, in 15+ years. Since we decided to follow our hearts and do what we feel is God’s plan for us, we have been on 2 vacations, yes, I said 2!! Nothing like Outer Banks beach rentals, but vacations, nonetheless. One was a camping trip, SO MUCH FUN!!! and the other was a trip to Great Wolf Lodge. Both were with the other full-time couple here at camp and their family. What a gift to be able to have fun serving the Lord together and then have “no-work” fun time together too!! Thanks Jim and Marie, we love you!!
AWOL!! :)
Posted on February 13, 2010well, we have a camp coming in today for lunch and they will be here through mon. morning. then monday afternoon, the camp director, his wife and kids and my family are going on a little mini-vacay!!!! so i won’t be around much for the next few days so don’t have too much fun without me!!!! i will check in from time to time as time and an internet connection allows!!
God Bless…
Family Fun…
Posted on December 11, 2009If you are planning a family vacation this winter break, you should look at going to one of the disney world resorts. Sometimes you can find all inclusive packages that cover everything but airfare or travel expenses. But sometimes even that! Disney has always been a great place to visit especially if you have kids. There is so much to do, you will want o go again and again!!

se habla espanol??
Posted on November 16, 2009TeeHee. Was looking into mexico vacation deals recently because I hear it’s amazing there. I have never been out of the country and I think it would be fun to go somewhere that has a different culture than we do here int he US. I hear the food is good and they have lots of exciting things to do there. Have any of you been there?? Is it all they say it is??

Vacation????
Posted on November 04, 2009I hope we sell our house soon. Buster says that when we sell it, we might take a vacation. He’s talking about one of those orlando vacations. We have some friends who live in Florida, minutes from Disney, actually. So we might be taking a Disney trip in the near future…hopefully while it’s still cold here!!! That would be fun!! Pumpkin_seed and I have never flown, so it should be interesting ( maybe we will drive) ![]()

So I was thinking…
Posted on September 16, 2009…I know, I know, it’s a dangerous thing, for me.
Buster and I cannot take the mini vacay we were talking about taking this fall now that pumpkin_seed has started school, but I’m thinking Spring Vacation is looking good for one. But, I wonder….Can I get better travel deals if I go through a travel agency as opposed to “looking for deals” myself??? I mean, that is their job, after all. to get me the best deal on the best vacation, right?? They know all the ins-and-outs and such. Ah…the possibilities….
vacation…
Posted on August 26, 2009Buster and I are in the market for a mini vacay possibly this fall, maybe next spring. I have been checking out some vacation spots that are not local, but not too far away. I wasn’t aware that you could stay ANYWHERE for $39 /night until I looked at some Branson vacations the other day. They have packages that are as low as $99 including motel/hotel and entertainment!! Stuff for kids and adults!! Looks like I need to do some more investigating!!
Vacation spots….
Posted on April 20, 2009Yeah, it’s cool to go on vacation. Book a flight or drive to your destination. Book a motel. See the sites.
I would love to go with the hubby and visit distant places. We have always stayed in motels whenever we have went somewhere. We’ve never went on a “real vacation”, but we have done weekend jaunts or trips with our Church. We have never rented a condo or anything like that. But wouldn’t it be nice?? I was looking at Outer Banks vacation rentals and in some cases, you can rent a whole house for the same or less per night than you would spend on just a room at a motel! Some are just feet away from the beach! Now that’s what I call a vacation!
Out Of The Blue…
Posted on April 13, 2009Just out of the blue, the other day, Buster says to me….When we sell the house, we should go on one of those Orlando vacations. I’m like really?? You think so? He says yeah since we haven’t ever really gone on a vacation before, we should. I reminded him of when we went to the UP a couple years ago, He said helping friends clean up their campground for the upcoming season doesn’t count, even if we stayed their cabin for free!!
Yes, it’s very sad. We have been married 16 years and we have never been on a vacation. We never even had a “real” honeymoon!! So, after we sell the house (hopefully in the next few months!!) and we get settled in, we are going to take a vacation. Of course it won’t be til next winter probably because, really, who wants to go to Florida in the summer, I mean really!!
