Ideas…

Posted on October 04, 2011

My hubby’s birthday is coming up and I have been racking my brain trying to come up with inexpensive, but nice birthday gifts for him.  He’s kind of hard to buy for. Although, not really.  I mean, you buy him something for hunting or fishing and he’s happy.

But, since I know pretty much nothing about either of those, I am like a fish out of water when it comes to finding the right thing for him.  Get it, fish out of water, and I was talking about fishing…..okay, so it wasn’t that funny.

But for real peeps, anyone know what I should get the boy for his birthday? Come on, it’s only a few months away.  I need some really good ideas!!

Change Is Good…

Posted on September 25, 2011

As you may or may not have noticed, some things have changed around here.  I found a really nice autumn theme to spruce up the place, What do you think??  Well? Do you like it? Do you?  I really like it!

And you might notice, I have been posting a lot of recipes.  There will be a lot more of that happening.  That will be the major theme of the blog from now on.  Healthy recipes.  Mostly gluten and (refined)sugar free recipes to be exact.   Not all of them will be gluten and (refined)sugar free, but most of them will be, because that is how my family eats for the most part, so it stands to reason that that would be what I would be sharing, no?  :)

Fear not, friends, you will still be able to come  and find out where to purchase the best cigars and other random, yet totally useful and most ridiculous IMPORTANT information here at blog-diggidy.com, because I am nothing if not efficient my dear friends, NOTHING!  ;)

House For Sale…

Posted on August 08, 2011

Well, we finally did it!  We got our house back up for sale.  We are using the same lady we had before, only she is working for a different realtor now.  She worked real hard for us the last time, so we should have good results this time, too.

Last time, we got an offer, but it was really low and instead of countering, we just decided to wait to sell the house.  This time we won’t be so hasty to do that, we REALLY need to sell it!!

The only problem is that when we got insurance, we insured our vehicles, our home and we also got life insurance, all through the same company.  And since it was “bundled”, they gave a us a certain rate.  Well, if we sell our home, we will no longer have that insured.  We are also in the process of selling one of our vehicles.  So that won’t be “bundled” in the insurance either.  I wonder what that’s going to do to our rates?  I hope we aren’t going to have to pay through the nose for it.  We will have some kind of renter’s insurance for our belongings here in the house at camp and also for the one car we still have…

I guess we will find out…  :)

“Mom, I want…”

Posted on August 06, 2011

Do you ever get sick of hear the phrase, “Mom, I want…”? I do! It seems like there is a never ending list of things my child wants,  a never ending list of things I can’t afford, and an even longer list of things I wouldn’t buy her even if I could afford them.

Every time I hear about an ipod touch sale, or a the newest, latest,  greatest gadget comes out on the market and they have a huge blow out sale on it, I just know my little girl is going to have to have it!  Especially if she can text on it!   :)

Oh my soul, TEXTING!!! If I didn’t like it so much, it would be really annoying.  It’s a conundrum, I tell you…I can hardly get annoyed with my daughter for doing it when I secretly love it myself, now can I??

It’s HOT!

Posted on July 16, 2011

It has been a busy and HOT few weeks!! It has been quite sunny, too!!

Most people remember to wear sunscreen to protect their skin from sun damage, I wonder how many people realize that sun can damage your eyes? Not the same way it does your skin, but it can damage them!

I found some really cool julbo sunglasses.  They have sunglasses for men, women and children.  Their prices are pretty substantial, but they are well made and should last a good long time.  And they have some good discounts and free shipping offers, too!!

Make sure and take good care of your eyes this summer!!

Wally World…

Posted on July 09, 2011

Walmart (I call it Wally World) is one of my favorite places to shop, dare I say it might be my very favorite.  Because you can find so many different things under one roof!! And for great prices!!

And now they have made shopping with them even easier with walmart coupons at drop down deals.com.  Between Walmart’s low prices and the coupon codes on their site, you can save even more through their special promotions!  And their website offers many of the same items you can find in the store.

Their site is easy to use and offers some really substantial savings, head on over and check it out!!!

Randomness…

**I am not receiving any compensation for this post**

I have a couple different recipes that call for canned chicken.  I must say, I am not a fan of canned chicken.  So much so that I went to cooking chicken breast tenders, letting them cool and cutting them up all just to make chicken salad.  Sad, I know…

So, the other day I’m in the store and I’m thinking, if I could only find a canned chicken that I liked, it would make my life SO.MUCH.EASIER.

So, I pick up a couple cans of Tyson Brand canned chicken.  The label says “Premium White Chicken”, so it’s gotta be good, right??

IT IS DELICIOUS!!! I kid you not, it’s so yummy, I can’t stop eating it!!!

So, if you are as frustrated as I was with canned chicken, be frustrated no more!!! Pick yourself up some Tyson brand canned chicken and you won’t be disappointed!

You’re Welcome!!

Home Improvements…

I am a HUGE fan of hardwood floors.  I am not, however, a fan of the upkeep of hardwood floors!!!

Love the look and the fact that it is a “clean” floor, meaning it doesn’t hold dust and dander like carpet does.  You also don’t have the worry of spills that will stain or soak in and leave odors!!

I have always dreamt of beautiful cherry or oak floors with those big oriental rugs…aahhhh…that would be awesome!!!  Maybe someday I will get my “hardwood” floors…

For those of us who like the look of hardwood but not the “work” that goes with them, they make laminate flooring.  It looks like hardwood (or can) but it doesn’t have the upkeep that goes with it.

Isn’t it gorgeous??  LOVE IT!!!!

Nom Nom Nom…

Posted on April 08, 2011

September 1, of this last year, Buster and I started a “diet”. Only, it really isn’t a diet. It is a lifestyle change. We decided to cut out all refined sugar, wheat of any kind, fatty meats and cheese, and basically anything processed. The more processed a food is, the easier it is to digest, which means less work for your body and the easier it is to absorb fat and calories you don’t need for your body to function, so it gets stored as fat.

Then Thanksgiving came and Christmas and we kind of got a little slack about what we were eating and we have yet to get back “on the wagon”…

One of the things we can enjoy while not on our “diet” is sausage muffins with egg and cheese. Man, are they good!!

One of the hardest parts of making them is the eggs, though! I could never get the eggs nice and round like the restaurants do, and it made me kinda mad!!

That’s when one of these comes in handy!!

and here they are in use…

Thanks to the people at CSNStores, I got a couple to try out, keep and review for them. They work really well!! The eggs stay inside the ring and cook fully through when you use med heat and allow them to cook long enough. Once almost done, you can actually remove the ring and flip the egg over if you want…

Here is some information on my new egg rings…

Features:

•Non-stick

•Ideal for shaping an egg while being fried

•Also great for making perfect pancakes

Specifications:

•Material: Stainless steel

•Overall dimensions: 0.5″ H x 4″ W x 4″ D

I really like them !! I give these egg rings ♥♥♥♥ (4 hearts)!!! (since I don’t have stars on my character thingy, I will use hearts for rating on my reviews…1 heart being very poor, 2 hearts being poor, 3 hearts being average, 4 hearts being good and 5 hearts being very good).

Thanks again toCSNStores for hooking me up with a great product!!! :D

MakeOver??

Posted on March 31, 2011

Don’t get me wrong, I am super happy and so content with what God has given me since we have been here at Fort Faith. But if I’m totally honest, I would at some point like to do some updating here at the house!!

Nothing obnoxious, but maybe a modern sofa set. You know, a couch and loveseat ensemble with a recliner that all match. I would LOVE to paint one wall in here (at least) a dark deep red and decorate from there…

Right now we have an older couch and loveseat that match and a recliner that is neutral so it matches, but it is broken and Buster keeps having to beat it with a hammer to get it to work right!!

A girl can dream, right?? :)

Which One Are/Were You??

Posted on March 25, 2011

Another Poll…

Not that anyone participated in the last one, lol.

By a show of hands (haha), how many of you actually bought and wore maternity clothes during your pregnancy/pregnancies?

I know woman who were small enough to just go up a size and wear “normal” clothing right up til they delivered.  I also know women who simply wore their husbands/boyfriends clothes for a few months just before having their kids.

I bought a few maternity clothes, mostly second hand (Goodwill).  Between the few I bought and my husbands sweats and shirts I could fit in, I was good to go.

Which one are/were you??

Is It Prom Time Already??

Posted on March 19, 2011

My daughter goes to a charter school now.  She has for the last couple years.  It’s quite a bit different from the Christian school she used to go to.

One of the major differences is that her new school has dances, even for the middle school.  Some of the girls go nuts over these dances…I mean NUTS!!

I heard one girl already has a prom dress picked out.  And she can’t even go too prom for another two years!!!

NUTS!!!!
