Do you ever feel like just throwing a big ol ‘ temper tantrum when you don’t get your own way?? This is how I have been feeling for the last few days.  Ever since I found out we are going to miss our Churches marriage retreat this year.  Something we haven’t missed in almost 10 years.  10 years people!!! That’s a long time to be involved with something, ya know??

We have Pastor’s group coming in to use the camp for a retreat that Friday night through Saturday.  Probably close to the same exact hours as the marriage retreat.  When I first found out I was really mad.  Then I went to being sad.  I’m not sure exactly where I am at with it right at the moment.  I go back and forth between being OK with it and being sad.

The reason, I think, for this is because when Buster and I first started attending our Church, our marriage was almost at an end.  Literally.  We had all but come out and said “I’m done” to each other.  The spring after we started attending FBC, we went on a marriage retreat with the Church.  It wasn’t our Churches retreat, it was Preacher’s son-in-law’s Churches retreat that our Church got invited to.  That retreat SAVED our marriage.

Since then our Church has started our own annual marriage retreat.  And Buster and I have attended every one of them.  Not because our marriage is in peril anymore, but so it doesn’t become so!!  Marriage is hard work and you have to put a lot of effort into it sometimes.  Sometimes it is easy and others, not so much!!!

So, anyway, so I can stop rambling, I will get to my point.  I was looking forward to going to the retreat this year and now I will not be able to go.

**Throws herself on the floor and screams**

**Yells at the top of her lungs,”It’s not fair”**

**Stomps her feet in disapproval**

OK, now that I’m done throwing a temper tantrum I will remind myself and you that we don’t always get what we want.   Sometimes God has other plans.  Even when we don’t understand why, we have to realize God is still in control and knows what is best.  And even if I have to miss this retreat, I am going to be thankful God has brought me to camp and given me this GREAT opportunity to serve Him and others!!  I wouldn’t change being here for anything!!  God has been so good to me and my family and I thank Him for it!!

So do all my (2) readers think I’m beating a dead horse here?? (for you PETA people, no horses were actually harmed during the writing/composing of this post) I am still looking for a natural wrinkle treatment, that I can AFFORD!!  This is like DEFCON 5 or 10 (or whatever the highest one is, lol) people!!! I refuse to age gracefully!! I am going to fight it tooth and nail, folks, tooth and nail!!  Plus, I am far too young to be having this many wrinkles/laugh lines, puffy eyes, etc. !! I am only 34 29 , for the love of pie!! HELP!!! I may or may not be being mellow-dramatic here LOL.

As you know, if you have ever read my blog before, that is, I am not a big advocate of taking drugs to lose weight.  But  have seen the commercials on TV for the top rated diet pills, and the women and men who get on there and say they have lost tons of weight, blah blah blah.  I wonder how much they get paid to say all that stuff.  And do these “miracle drugs” really work or do they just say they do for money??   HHhhhmmm???

To take a phrase from a new friend of mine…

I’ll give 1,000,000 (totally useless) points to the first  person to guess what I am talking about in the next few sentences…

I have never in all of my 34 years ever heard of this.  When I had my hysterectomy a few years back, they told me all about Hormone Replacement Therapy, but I didn’t know men could use it.  What is it, like a testosterone booster??  That’s the only thing I can think of that a guy would need.  I’m sure they have small amounts of other hormones, but I guess I really don’t know that much about it…Things that make you say HHHmmm??

Since Buster and I live out in the middle of no where on a “no outlet” road, I don’t think we need to worry about such things as wireless security systems.  I never really thought we had a need for one anyway, though.  We locked our doors and night and slept with a loaded gun under the mattress….who needs more security than that.  Settle down, settle down, I was kidding…..or was I????

Well, as you may or may not know….depending on how often you visit, I haven’t posted for almost a week.  I did my Menu Plan Monday, then nothing.  That is because on Tuesday I found out, after being on the brink of death sick for 5 weeks, I have pneumonia.  I did not have pneumonia that long, but I had been sick on and off for that long.  Dr. said it isn’t the worst case he has seen, or even close, but he was glad I came in when I did so it wasn’t as bad as it could have been.

So after two days in bed on the couch per Dr.’s orders, I still felt like death warmed over.  And still today I am not feeling 100%.  Not even 75% truth be told.  I feel like I’m running at about 45-50%. I hope this doesn’t last long!!!   And if I don’t quit coughing, I am going to have a melt-down!!!  So pray for a speedy recovery, would you please??

Also, please pray for pumpkin_seed, as she fights a virus this week, she is finally not running a fever!!

2.  school starts soon
3.  each day brings me closer to feeling “normal” again, the chest pain is almost gone
4. eli’s birthday was a couple weeks ago and i am getting over feeling hurt that he celebrated in heaven without me
5.  pumpkin_seed is starting a new school this year and we are all excited but a little nervous
6. it will be weird not attending school functions at the “old” school, we will miss our friends
7. i love my new house, even though it’s a lot smaller than the other one
8. i miss my hubby when he is at work
9. i am glad my hubby has a job to pay the bills, see my conundrum??
10. it is too cold to be summer, it’s not fall yet, is it??
