Normally I don’t have to have such warnings on my posts, but some times, ya gotta do what ya gotta do, ya know what I’m sayin’?

I think you do. Today I wanted to talk about How to spice up your marriage a lil’ bit. Some times we get in a rut. Life gets busy with the job and kids and church and just life in general. Some times we just need a little something to to spice things up.

I found just the thing!! These fishnet panties ought to do the trick, don’t ya think?? Wowza!! I know they would get my hubby droolin’ for sure! TeeHee…lots of cute stuff over there, no??

Then…

As of yesterday I have been married to the same person for 18 years. By many standards that is a long time. Considering half the people that get married this day and age end up getting divorce, I would say that is a long time. Of course, I don’t know how long the average marriage lasts. Hang on I will look that up….

OK, according to Google, the average marriage in the United States lasts 8 years. So The hubs and I have “out wed” the average marriage by ten years. Not bad, not bad at all.

Marriage is hard people. It’s not all candy and roses all up in here every day (or pretty much any day for that matter). It’s ugly and hard. It takes a lot of “I’m sorrys” and “I’ll do better next times”. We have called names and yelled and I think even thrown things. I can’t be sure, but I think so. I mean, for goodness sake, you can’t live with someone almost 20 years and not chuck something at his head at least once, right? Right?!?!

Marriage is about committing to your life, body and soul to someone forever “til death do us part”. People forget that part when it gets hard. I have forgotten that part sometimes. I have wanted to throw in the towel when it has gotten hard and I’m sure my husband has. Lord knows I have given him plenty of reasons to! He has definitely had it harder than me in this marriage, I will tell you that!

I am not perfect and neither is he, but we are perfect for each other! God has made that clear to us. And even if we weren’t, we became perfect for each other when we made our vows and become man and wife before God and everyone at our wedding.

But I believe God made my husband for me and me for my husband. Buster is the most patient man I know. He is so patient with me with all I have been through in my life and with my Bipolar and Borderline Pers0nality Disorder and other challenges I have. He has been patient with me with the issues I have had with my adoptive parents. He has been the best father our kids could ever ask for! I love that about him.

Now…

Where has the time gone? Doesn’t seem possible that 18 years have come and gone…

So, if you have someone who knows all about your pain-in-the-butt-ed-ness and still wants to call you his, hang onto him. And if you’ve got someone who’s worth fighting for, hang onto ‘em and fight for ‘em! Cause these days, they are hard to come by, someone who will stand by you and stick with you through the hard times…

I found mine more than 20 years ago and somehow, by the grace of God, he’s still here…

I’m bored… Buster is over pouring cement right now for the dam. Actually, I think they finished that yesterday, so I’m not sure exactly what he’s doing…He has been working 24/7 lately it seems like. Busy busy, that guy! And with me passing out again, I haven’t been able to do much. I have been working on trying to get my house clean today, as much as I can since I haven’t been doing much the last few days.

Yeah, so you don’t think my husband will mind if I try out a little free dating, do you? You know, while he’s busy pouring cement and whathaveyou? What? You think he’ll have a problem with that? Psshhh, he’s a very understanding guy! I just need someone to ya know, take me out to dinner, maybe a movie, take me shopping. Then they can bring me home so I can spend a romantic evening with my husband. Is that too much to ask?

I am a GENIUS, no?

This Post Is A Must Read…

If you only read one post I ever post, please let it be this one. I beg of you. This might just be the single most important post I will ever post. Okay, maybe the second most important. Because the posts I post about salvation are probably the most important…

But this one is very important!

I want you to realize that we are in a fight! A fight against the devil and evil! Yes, the devil! He is waging a war against us and if we are not careful and vigilant, he is going to win!

You think I’ve lost my mind don’t you? Look around you, friends…

Look at all the pastor’s wives fighting cancer or some other life-threatening or life-altering illness right now, do you think that is a coincidence?

Look at all the “men of God” being accused of “sexual deviance”, do you think that is coincidence?

Look at all the marriages in ruins, do you think that is coincidence?

We are in the fight of our lives, people, do we not realize this? The devil is after us and our families and I don’t think we even realize it!

Hold your dear ones close friends. Yes, even when they hurt you. Even when you think they have done the unforgivable. Jesus forgave you!

Husbands, pray for your wives.

Wives, pray for your husbands.

Church members, pray for your pastors.

Pastors, pray for your church members.

Parents, pray for your children.

Children, pray for your parents.

EVERYONE, pray for EVERYONE!!!

For those of you who haven’t figured it out yet, it takes a lot more than having the biggest, bestest, most high tech house on the block to make a house a home. It takes a lot more than fancy shower curtains and pretty nick knacks too!!

Some people just don’t get it. It doesn’t matter if you have all the latest home furnishings and high tech gadgets like the ones you see on Home Makeover and other shows on TV, but if you don’t have love and security, you’ve got nothing!!!

You can have the biggest house on the block with the fanciest things in it and if you don’t have love and commitment and trust, you may as well have a cardboard box. When will people learn this important fact?

“Things” are not evil or bad in and of themselves, but when we place the importance on these that we should have on our relationships with our families and with God, we are setting ourselves up for major disappointment!!

Just had to get that off my chest…

Genesis 3:16

Today I read Genesis 3

This is the chapter where the serpent beguiles Eve and she eats of the fruit of the tree she shouldn’t and then convinces her husband to do the same.

Here in verse 16, God is telling Adam and Eve what their punishment will be for disobeying. This jumped out at me as this is where God tells Eve …”and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.”

Now I know a lot of women who would scoff at that and even buck against it. I was one of those women when I first got married. That is the way I was raised. My “mother” ruled the roost, so to speak. I used to joke and say my dad couldn’t even go to the bathroom without permission, which wasn’t really that far from the truth, unfortunately.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.

I rather like the fact that my husband is “in charge”. It wasn’t always that way, though. I fought against it for years and didn’t find real peace and joy in my marriage until I learned that this was God’s will for my marriage.

Now that I have learned to be submissive and allow him to lead, I have peace and a lot of joy as well!!! I just had to get out of my own way and stop being so bull headed and stubborn.

So, to the women I say…Back off!! Let your husband lead you, let him be the head of your household. Let him take the role God intended him to have. God gives a husband discernment that a wife does not have, making him a better leader.

And to the men say…Step up!!! Be a man!! Take charge and lead. Seek God’s guidance and direction for you and your family and then do what He wants you to do. If you do not step up to the plate and do what you should, your wife will!!!

To the my best friend, my lover, my protector, my provider, my Buster!! You told me the first day you met me you loved me. I thought you were crazy!! I didn’t know you could love someone after only knowing them a day!! You saw something I didn’t and for that I will ever be thankful. You have been by my side through thick and thin. In good times and in BAD!!

You have been a good friend, a great lover, a wonderful father and a tremendous husband!! I could not ask for more in a husband than what you are. Though you are not perfect, you are perfect for me. I believe with all my heart that God made you for me and me for you!! I am so thankful that we have each other to go through this life with. You have been my strength when I had none. My sunshine when it was dark and cloudy. My joy when sorrow enveloped me. My constant companion. I am so thankful and proud to call you mine!!

This is just a candid picture of Buster (my husband) I took in the truck on our way somewhere?!? I am married to the most awesome guy on the planet. Though sometimes I want to throttle him, I don’t know what I would ever do without him. He has been through so much with me and he still loves me! Go figure.

I am married to the greatest, smartest, strongest, most caring, most generous man I have ever known. I am so blessed to be his wife!! We have been together for almost 20 years and married for 15. I can’t imagine my life without him.Through thick and thin , he has stuck by my side and I could never repay him for all he’s done for me. But he is not worried about any of that. He is just happy that I am his and he is mine. I don’t think I’ll ever understand why he is still here.

Update!!!

Buster is doing much better today!! He has eaten three meals today and even some ice cream and hasn’t thrown up at all. He hasn’t even needed his medication for the nausea!! His incision is a little tender but he has had a shower and removed his original dressing and everything looks great!! I’m so thankful to all of you for your prayers and also to God for taking care of my baby!! Buster is so important to me and he takes such good care of me all the time. It was odd having to do the “taking care of”. But I love taking care of my man . **dances around buster**

For Better Or For Worse…

These were taken October 30, 1993. The day I said “I do”. For better or for worse… Thankfully, it has only gotten better!! I am blessed to be married to the greatest man in the world!!! He is a hard worker. He loves the Lord and he is a wonderful father!!! I am more in love with him now than I have ever been. Next to my salvation, he is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

OUR WEDDING DAY: October 30, 1993

The first one is of me just before the wedding. The second is at the reception. I had to hold my dress up cause Buster kept stepping on it and breaking the beads!!
