Teens, Ugh!
- by Jo
HELP!! MY daughter is having her first “breakout” and I have no idea how to help her. Anyone know how to get rid of blackheads really fast?? Can anyone suggest a good face wash that is good for sensitive skin?? It’s been too long since I had to worry about anything like this. I keep telling her, WASH YOUR FACE MORE!! I am thinking, although this is good advice, it isn’t going to save her completely from getting blackheads….Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!

Looking for a miracle…
- by Jo
I realize I have done a lot of these posts lately, but you don’t understand, I’m in crisis mode here!!! Did I mention it’s like DEFCON 5, or whatever the highest one is?? Yes, I think I did!! I am looking for a face cream that is all-inclusive, it takes care of EVERYTHING. Like one of those vacation packages where you pay one price and GET IT ALL!!!! I struggle with dryness, a little adult acne (not very bad at all), a few lines and wrinkles, and puffiness and dark circles under the eyes. I know, I am asking for a miracle, but hey, a girl can still dream can’t she?? LOL
Summer is coming!! :)
- by Jo
Is anyone else out there trying to reduce belly fat?? Probably a lot of you are!! I wish there was just a magic pill you could take (that didn’t have any side effects) to just make all your fat disappear!! LOL I am hoping to lose a few pounds before summer so I can actually enjoy myself this year. Because I am over weight, I get warm really easy and I sweat a lot and it’s really annoying!! Plus I swell a lot in my hands and feet. Wish me luck!!
Vacation…
- by Jo
Before Buster and I decided to do God’s will for us and move out to Fort Faith Camp, we had never taken a real vacation, nope, not one, in 15+ years. Since we decided to follow our hearts and do what we feel is God’s plan for us, we have been on 2 vacations, yes, I said 2!! Nothing like Outer Banks beach rentals, but vacations, nonetheless. One was a camping trip, SO MUCH FUN!!! and the other was a trip to Great Wolf Lodge. Both were with the other full-time couple here at camp and their family. What a gift to be able to have fun serving the Lord together and then have “no-work” fun time together too!! Thanks Jim and Marie, we love you!!
The Great Outdoors
- by Jo
We are in the process of adopting our dog out to a new family, and while I will miss her terribly, I can’t help but think of how nice it will be to be able to not have to buy dog food, go to the vet once a year, give shots twice a year, clean the house daily because of pet dander and hair, etc. And it will be so nice to not have the yard dug up and all the grass gone from dog chains and her going potty on the grass. I am even thinking about getting some nice outdoor furniture for the back yard, since it will be nice and soft and green this summer!!
Home Sweet Home…

I know some people who have a pool in their house. IN THEIR HOUSE!!! How cool is that?? They have these really nice hardwood floors, and a 52″ tv mounted on a bracket-type thing that swivels between rooms…they have a lot of nice stuff. They recently bought new living room furniture and jokingly said something about putting in home theater seating in the family room. I am not coveting their house, but I am very impressed at what they have done with their house, considering it started out as tiny old run down shack and they now live in a GORGEOUS and spacious log home!!
Temper Tantrum~~ Look out!!
- by Jo
Do you ever feel like just throwing a big ol ‘ temper tantrum when you don’t get your own way?? This is how I have been feeling for the last few days. Ever since I found out we are going to miss our Churches marriage retreat this year. Something we haven’t missed in almost 10 years. 10 years people!!! That’s a long time to be involved with something, ya know??
We have Pastor’s group coming in to use the camp for a retreat that Friday night through Saturday. Probably close to the same exact hours as the marriage retreat. When I first found out I was really mad. Then I went to being sad. I’m not sure exactly where I am at with it right at the moment. I go back and forth between being OK with it and being sad.
The reason, I think, for this is because when Buster and I first started attending our Church, our marriage was almost at an end. Literally. We had all but come out and said “I’m done” to each other. The spring after we started attending FBC, we went on a marriage retreat with the Church. It wasn’t our Churches retreat, it was Preacher’s son-in-law’s Churches retreat that our Church got invited to. That retreat SAVED our marriage.
Since then our Church has started our own annual marriage retreat. And Buster and I have attended every one of them. Not because our marriage is in peril anymore, but so it doesn’t become so!! Marriage is hard work and you have to put a lot of effort into it sometimes. Sometimes it is easy and others, not so much!!!
So, anyway, so I can stop rambling, I will get to my point. I was looking forward to going to the retreat this year and now I will not be able to go.
**Throws herself on the floor and screams**
**Yells at the top of her lungs,”It’s not fair”**
**Stomps her feet in disapproval**
OK, now that I’m done throwing a temper tantrum I will remind myself and you that we don’t always get what we want. Sometimes God has other plans. Even when we don’t understand why, we have to realize God is still in control and knows what is best. And even if I have to miss this retreat, I am going to be thankful God has brought me to camp and given me this GREAT opportunity to serve Him and others!! I wouldn’t change being here for anything!! God has been so good to me and my family and I thank Him for it!!
Do You Know??
- by Jo
If you could have God’s promise that YOU would go right to HEAVEN when you die, would you take it??
Let me show YOU how YOU can have This Promise!!
ALL HAVE SINNED
ROMANS 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one.
ROMANS 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.
GOD’S PRICE ON SIN
ROMANS 6:23 A For the wages of sin is death.
THERE ARE TWO DEATHS
REVELATION 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
OUR WAY OUT
ROMANS 5:8-9 But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
GOD’S PERSONAL PROMISE
ROMANS 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Take God at his word and claim His promise for your salvation. Bow you head right now and sincerely ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and to save your soul. Saying a prayer does not save you!! You must believe what the Bible says and mean it in your heart to be saved!!!
ROMANS 10:9-11 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture sayeth, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.
Once you are eternally saved, you are always eternally saved…
HEBREWS 13:5B…for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
If you have read this and accepted Christ as your personal Savior, CONGRATULATIONS on getting that taken care of, you’ll be so glad you did!! Please leave your name in a comment so that I can pray for you !!! And also find yourself a good, Bible (King James) preaching Church where you can grow in your faith!!
If you don’t need this message, but know someone who does, feel free to link them to this or just tell them about the blog post!! It is important that every person get this taken care BEFORE it is too late. We often think we have all the time in the world, what’s the rush?? My son was killed in an auto-accident five years ago (November 5, 2004) at the age of 10! We have no guarantee of how long we have on this earth, we need to spread the word!! Thankfully, Eli saw his need for salvation and accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 7, just three short years before he died.
Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!!

The weight loss saga continues…
- by Jo
I know several people who have gone through weight loss surgery. I don’t think any of them left the country to have it done, but I don’t think it’s a bad idea. As long as the Dr. is board certified and good at what they do, it might be just the way to go. If you go for weight loss surgery Mexico, what nicer place is there to recuperate than beautiful Mexico?? I think I would have to try EVERY other way to lose wight before I would do something like this!! But that’s just me…

Pretty Blue House…
- by Jo
I have always wanted a pretty light blue house with dark blue exterior shutters and a blue door. I came close to that with my fist house…it had a blue door, but it was gray and had no shutters. Now, I live in a taupe/tan house with a white door and alas, still no shutters!! Maybe someday I will get my dream house, but for now, I am so thankful to be where I am!! God is Good!!
Be Blessed…
