GGGGRRRR….

Well, my “baby computer” showed up today…a lot of good it does me, the fine people over at the USPS broke it!!!  I mean BROKE IT…the whole screen is just shattered!!!  So, now dad has to make a claim to get his money back for it (thankfully he insured it) and start all over again.  I told him, maybe it’s just not meant to be, but he says I will get my computer one way or another, LOL

It’s so sad, too.  The outside is a pretty blue/green…I really liked it…Oh well….

Still waiting….

Posted on January 12, 2011

As those of you who read this blog at all know, I am waiting on a new “baby computer” from my dad.  The first one he sent me turned out to be a dud.  Not his fault AT.ALL but he felt bad about it so he sending me another one.  The new (to me) one is an Acer.  It has a 10 inch lcd monitor.  Well,  it’s a laptop so it’s a 10 inch screen,  not a separate monitor, but you get the idea.

It has like 250 Gigs of hard drive space and 1 Gig of RAM.  It is WiFi capable and also has a built in Webcam.  It’s going to be a nice little computer that I can blog on and surf the net on.  Should get it today, tomorrow at the latest, can’t wait!! =)

My “Baby Computer”

Posted on January 07, 2011

Well, I thought it was gonna be really nice to have new computer to use…but it was short lived.

While on the phone with my dad, fixing the problem I was having with my USB ports, the computer decided it was going to flip out and not work.  So I was like what the heck is going on??? I said it out loud and my dad asked me what was going on, so I told him.  He had me take the battery off and see if that helped.  It did for a little bit, then it decided to flip out again and again and then again.

So, my dad said he was going to have to send me another computer.  I told him it was fine, that it works most of the time and he didn’t owe me anything.  He said he wasn’t going to have his daughter using a computer that didn’t work like it was supposed to and that he said he was giving me a computer that worked and that was what i was going to get!

He said he would do some searching and see what he could find for me.  So,  today I get a call from him saying that not only did he find one and put it in the mail today, but he also b0ught an external dvd drive for it so I can upload/download (whatever you do with them) programs onto my computer, so I don’t have to try and use a thumb drive to do it.

I am so blessed!!  THANK YOU to my earthly father for being such a blessing to me and THANK YOU to my Heavenly Father for His provision and so many blessings, all of which I do not deserve!!

Heaven Is A Wonderful Place!!

DO YOU KNOW FOR SURE HEAVEN WILL BE YOUR HOME??

We “preach” at our kids all day long about making the right choices and decisions for themselves, but are we sure we have told them about the most important decision they could ever make?  Have we told them they can know for sure that they can go to heaven someday when they die?  Some of you may not know that yourselves, I realize that.  BUT YOU CAN KNOWthere are just a few things you need to do in order to know that!!  The actual work has already been done, but you must accept what has been done!!  Let me show you…

  • First, you must realize that God loves you. ~ John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in Him should not perish , but have everlasting life.” Whosoever means anyone and everyone who believes!!
  • Secondly, you must realize that everyone is a sinner. ~ Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” All means every single person!!
  • Thirdly, you must realize that sin has a price that must be paid. ~ Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.” When you have a job, you earn a wage (money)…when you sin you earn a wage (death or separation from God in hell) .
  • Fourthly, you must realize that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead to pay your sin debt for you. ~ Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
  • Finally, you must pray, ask Jesus Christ to be your Saviour, and claim His promise of eternal life. ~ Romans 10:9, 13 “Thas if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised  Him form the dead, thou shalt be saved…For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you or anyone you know isn’t sure they would go to heaven when they die, please read/share this important information with them.  I know it can be a daunting task, but isn’t it worth it to be secure in where you/they will spend eternity? Because, hey , we WILL ALL have to spend eternity SOMEWHERE!! I prefer HEAVEN!!

Tis The Season…

Hi, My name is Jo and I am a terrible gift giver!! There, I said it…

They say the first step is admitting you have a problem, so there you go…I have a problem, I admit it.

Now, for the solution….

When I think about buying someone a gift,  I really want something personal or special to the individual I am buying for.  But sometimes, you just really can’t find something personal to someone specific in a “regular” store setting.

Thanks to this silver birthday jewelry, I can find something perfect for everyone!! And it doesn’t have to be for a birthday!! From birthstone jewelry to plain silver, there is something for everyone,  for every occasion…and from what I can tell, the price is right, too!

Go ahead, check it out!!! =)

Just Some Thoughts

Posted on December 20, 2010

I have been watching a DVD series a friend gave me,made  by Dr. Kent Hovind.  It is all about evolution, dinosaurs and creation.  He debunks the theories of evolution and explains how God created the earth and everything on it and in it, including dinosaurs.

It is really interesting and all Biblical, by the way!  I have enjoyed it immensely.  I am on the last DVD and I couldn’t help but share this with you…

Dr. Hovind starts out by telling us that Adam watched God create things right in front of him.  He saw animals coming forth out of the ground and it was his job to name them.  He also states that Eve never saw God create anything, because she was made last.  This is probably why Satan went to Eve instead of Adam to trick her because she is “the weaker vessel”, not yet having seen with her own  eyes the power of God herself. (I Timothy 2:13-14)

He goes on to say that he believes that Adam knew full well what he was doing when he took the fruit from Eve.  Eve came to him with the fruit and He probably said to himself…”Oh brother, now you’ve done it”.  Adam knew that if he didn’t take the fruit and eat of it , too, that God would have to kill her (and only her).  So, he voluntarily, knowing what was going to happen, took the fruit and ate it;  essentially becoming sin for her and telling God that if He had to punish Eve, He’d have to do the same to him.  Adam wasn’t tricked or duped into anything, He knew what he was doing and did it willingly for Eve…

Much the same as Jesus Christ voluntarily becoming sin for you and I so that He could save US!!!!

What a powerful picture of what Jesus would do a couple thousand years later…

Cyber Monday…Black Friday done BETTER!!! =)

Posted on November 23, 2010

How many of you shop on Black Friday?  My sister-in-law (bless her heart) shops these sales EVERY YEAR!!  I think I have shopped on Black Friday maybe twice.  Yes, two times, that’s it!! I do not enjoy being trampled by over-eager shoppers who would sooner kill you than look at you just because you hold the last Tickle Me Elmo in the county. Remember when they were all the rage?? LOL

Not my style, thank you!  Now, Cyber Monday is something right up my ally!  No lines, no one yelling, I had that first! No one ramming into you with their cart.  And yet, you still get great prices and deals.  Only instead of being assaulted and accosted, you can shop in the comfort of your very own home!  Now that’s what I’m talking about!!!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!! God bless!!

Binoculars….

Posted on October 30, 2010

My husband has been saying for a while now that he needs a new pair of binoculars.  I have no idea what kind to get him.  I guess with this type of item, you get what you pay for.  You can get really cheap ones for around $20 or you could spend all the way to around $1,000, maybe even more.

So, I’m thinking $200 binoculars would be better than $20 binoculars…I know they have several brands that claim to be good, but overall, I really don’t know much about them.  Anyone have good ideas about this?

My perfect body….

Posted on October 25, 2010

IF there is one thing I would like to emphasize here on my blog, it’s the importance of knowing that there is a God and that He is in control.  I also would like others to know that there is life after death and that we will all spend eternity SOMEWHERE.  There are only two choices….heaven and hell.  I know, it’s not something that people like to talk about or think about, but it is a fact.

Me, myself, I KNOW that I will be spending my eternity in heaven with God.  In heaven I won’t have to worry about weight loss… anti wrinkle eye cream…teeth whitening…or any other issues I think about here on earth.  In heaven , I will have my perfect body!!

Do you know for sure that you will spend eternity in heaven??     Are you going to have your perfect body someday?? I want you to know that this is possible!! Just leave a comment and ask me how or see my Romans Road page!!

Donating…

Posted on October 15, 2010

We recently cleaned out our house to get it ready for our renter.  We ended up having a yard sale to sell a few things to make some money and just to get rid of it.  We sold lots of things, a few hundred dollars worth, but also took a few things to Good Will.  Some stuff we donated to the camp.  We ended up donating a bed, dining table, dining chairs, some pictures we didn’t have room for, and several other things.

We are so glad to not have to find space for these items and also glad to be able to give to Good Will and to the camp.  The camp, especially because we are non-profit so we rely on donations quite a bit.  The camp has been so fortunate over the years as far as peoples generosity and willingness to give to a good “cause”!
