Doing The Hard Work…

Since starting a new “diet” (it isn’t really a diet, so much as a healthier lifestyle) last fall and then stopping it around the holidays, I have lost weight and gained it back and lost some again…

I have had similar results in the past.  I have struggled for about 16 years or so I have finally just come to the point where I am tired of it all.  I am going to make the change and not go back.  I am changing my eating habits and getting more exercise and I am going to make those changes permanent.

I got to thinking, after reading some lipozene reviews, that I don’t want anything artificial or chemical in my body to help me loose weight.  Because I cannot imagine that the weight loss will be permanent, and I don’t want to have to take  a weight loss drug for the rest of my life.

I want to eat right and exercise and be healthy.  In doing so, as long as my body needs to, it will shed weight.  And when it no longer needs to, it will stop.  Now, I am not saying I will never enjoy a candy bar or a piece of cake, but on a day-to-day basis, I will consciously make an effort to choose healthy foods that will not cause me to gain unnecessary weight.

I am also going to make a concerted effort to get more exercise.  I will not be running any marathons any time soon or even working out for hours a day, but I will be getting some form of exercise, hopefully, daily.

Do you need to get healthy?  Have any tips on getting healthy? Do you have a great healthy recipe you would like to share?? Have any ideas on how to get me moving??? Leave me a comment!!!

SOUPS ON…

Every Sunday at Bible Baptist Church (Big Rapids, MI~~a shameless plug, I know) we have Sunday School at 10:00 AM.  Then we have our AM service at 11:00 AM.  At noon we all have lunch together there at the Church, fellowship, clean up and then have the PM service at 2:00 PM.  It’s fabulous!!

Since the Church has a refrigerator, microwave, sink and dishwasher, but no stove/oven, we all have to bring our hot dishes in in crock pots. It’s not a big deal, really.  Actually it’s convenient to keep your stuff hot in a crock pot.  My problem was bringing soup or stew or anything else that could slop around  and get all over everything!

A friend of mine brought one of these to Church…

Ain’t it perty?  I think so!!

So, when CSN Stores contacted me to do a review for them again, I went to one of their over 200+ stores looking for this fantastic gem.  And sure enough, they had one and it was the right price.  So I ordered it, got it and used it!!

This crock pot is awesome!!   It has these clamps on both sides and little hooks that they latch onto.  You simply put the latch over the hook, pull down on the clamp and it clamps the lid down.  The lid has a black rubber (I assume it’s rubber) gasket that goes all the way around it, so when clamped down it makes an air/water/soup tight seal!! =)

This last Sunday I man split pea and sausage SOUP!! Yes, I said SOUP!!  I really wanted to see if this baby would live up to my expectations.  Guess what??

NO LEAKS!!!  We live on a dirt road that isn’t smooth at all and there are so many bumps, I thought for sure it would leak some.  It.Didn’t.Leak.At.ALL.  It was amazing.  The High sitting got the soup nice and hot like it was supposed to and it turned out great….don’t think I’ll make that soup again (it wasn’t my favorite) but I’ll definitely use the crock pot again!!!

I give this Crock Pot ♥♥♥♥ (4 hearts)!!!

(since I don’t have stars on my character thingy, I will use hearts for rating on my reviews…1 heart being very poor, 2 hearts being poor, 3 hearts being average, 4 hearts being good and 5  hearts being very good).

The only thing that I would change on this is I would give it Cool Touch sides, this baby gets HOT!!!!

Thanks to CSNStores for, once again, hooking me up with a great product!!! =)

Insurance, Schminsurance!! =)

I have done some posts about life insurance before and I have stated that many people don’t carry life insurance on their children.  I think in most cases, people probably just don’t think about it.  In some cases, though, I think people don’t want to think about it!! What about you? Do you carry life insurance on your children?? Do you have any on your spouse or yourself?

Life Insurance is something we don’t like to think or talk about, because we feel in some way that it makes dying more real or that it might jinx us in some silly way.  I think it’s necessary, though, because the cost of EVERYTHING is so high!!

Carry On!! =)

Dropping calls….

I get cell reception almost everywhere.  Even in the basement of my old church, which is saying something.  I used to have one of the top cellphone companies for my provider and I didn’t get that good of reception!  But I do notice that if I am in some obscure place, way out tin the boonies, I do lose bars and sometimes service altogether, occasionally dropping a call.   I am wondering if a cell phone booster would solve that problem??  Does anyone know if that would do the trick??

AWOL!! :)

well, we have a camp coming in today for lunch and they will be here through mon. morning.  then monday afternoon, the camp director, his wife and kids and my family are going on a little mini-vacay!!!! so i won’t be around much for the next few days so don’t have too much fun without me!!!! i will check in from time to time as time and an internet connection allows!!

God Bless…

Getting the best…

Buster and I recently had to go to our insurance agent and get some new auto insurance quotes because we sold one of our vehicles and lost our multi-car policy.  We wanted to make sure we couldn’t get a better deal  through another company.  We have our home and truck insured by the same  company because we ended up paying like $10 more but got a life insurance policy on each of us and a little better coverage on our home by switching to another company!! How awesome is that?

Blessings….

WP fixed the problem….

my blog hasn’t been working correctly since my last upgrade…some of the files didn’t download correctly or something because i didn’t have all my options in my post box ( format, custom characters, color and so on).   i just did the most recent upgrade and IT WORKS now!!! :)   hope everyone’s weekend was great, mine was!! now tomorrow i get to start a new week of camp and i’m pumped!! :) have a great week and i’ll be on when i can!! see you soon…til then,

lack of posts…

sry about the lack of posts lately, i have been overwhelmed with all the stuff that needs to be done in order for us to move.  we are moving out to camp slowly over the next few weeks starting next week. so much to do and i’m far too lazy to do it! ;)   also, i have been having problems with the site that i’m not too sure about, so to all 3 people who read this, i’ll be back full swing, be patient!! :) thanks !!

Today’s Tribute goes out to the wonderful hair stylist at Walmart (I know, don’t judge me) who did my hair Sunday!!  I LOVE it!!  Hey, we were there, I needed a trim and they are the cheapest around!! Anyway…she was great.  She knew just what I needed for my face shape and my thin hair, the whole nine yards.

This is what I ended up with folks…not too Shabby…..

Today I pay tribute to Puffs and Kleenex.  They keep me from having a dripping wet nose and also from sneezing all over anyone who comes within 3 feet of me!!  **blows her nose**

Thanks to you for making those pillowy soft nose wipers I have come to depend on these days.   The only problem I have is the red irritation that comes soon after the 100th nose blow of the day!  Let’s see if you all can work on that, shall we??  **blows her nose**

Maybe you guys could just come up with a system that I can just hook up to all day long that will suction out all of the snot for me while I get on with my life.  I’m just sayin’.  **blows her nose**

I am still in a considerable amount of pain since having all four wisdom teeth yanked from my poor unsuspecting skull last Friday.  Two of them were impacted and one had to be removed in pieces…thus the massive swelling and bruising…

dsc014772

This is a picture taken from under my chin, upward, showing the bruise and swelling of my poor cheek on the right side of my face.  It was taken yesterday, a full 4 days AFTER my surgery.  Not sure if this is common to be this sore and swollen this long after, so I  am calling the Dr. today to make sure I am on the mend!!  It is getting smaller and less painful, though!! So I think I am OK, but was hoping for a quicker recovery!!  I am still eating soft foods and it takes forever to eat anything, but hey, maybe I’ll lose a few pounds??  lol
