The things we do to ourselves….

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

It could just be me, but it seems like there are an awful lot of weight loss pills out on the market these days.  I hate to talk about something no one wants to hear about, but I think this speaks volumes about the society we live in today.

Years ago, there weren’t many diet pills out there, or least they weren’t talked about so much.  People wanted to lose weight, they changed their diet and exercised more.  Our “microwave”, instant, I want it now mentality makes us do some crazy stuff!!

For instance, take pills that could potentially be harmful if not used correctly, or in themselves just be dangerous!!  People today want results right now, or why bother.  I must confess I, too get this way especially about weight loss.  I become discouraged very easily and don’t like to wait to see those pounds being shed!!!

Now, that is what I am talkin’ about…

…a “diet” pill that isn’t just a “diet” pill!!  A whole new animal, that’s what apidexin is!!  This is more like a fat-loss pill than a weight-loss pill.  And it has other benefits as well!! It is actually good for you, from what I read anyway…

Each and every ingredient in this product claims  to at some point increase the bodies ability to kill off fat cells and increase your metabolism (which will eventually result in weight loss).  Said ingredients also focus on building lean muscle as opposed to most weight loss pills, which generally only focus on losing water weight – which is almost always only a temporary loss.

Your fat burning and metabolism are both increased, but that’s not all!  You can increased thyroid function, lower cholesterol, increase circulation and absorb more vitamins and minerals.  To lose weight and keep it off, one must generally improve the overall health of ones body.

Apidexin is supposedly so good for you, it could actually be used for its added health even if it didn’t have the added benefit of fat loss.  Sounds like a win-win situation to me!?!

Sometimes, a job isn’t worth it!!

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

How is it that a company can hire someone and not tell them that their job is dangerous?? Companies that had their employees working with asbestos knew it was dangerous (maybe not right away, but eventually) and continued to let them work with it unprotected!! That is flat out wrong.

After they found out it was dangerous (it can and does cause Asbestos cancer), they should have taken every precaution possible to keep their employees safe!! There is no excuse for ignorance about this of this magnitude, either!!!!  If you think there may be a problem, you should take care of it!! We are talking about peoples lives here!!!  OK, I am done ranting now…..

Thanks to our somewhat secure “jobs” here at camp (as long as we are being led to stay here by God, I can’t see us leaving, unless they KICK.US. OUT LOL), Buster and I don’t have to worry about such things as seeking employment.  I get a little nervous when I think about all the employment screening companies  have to do these days.  My hubby , when seeking employment after he lost his job with the USPS, heard such things as…

You are over-qualified for this job!

You don’t have enough experience on this machine for this job!

Do you have a background in this field?

It was terrible!! I am so thankful God has put us here at camp and that we can served Him here and all our needs will be met because we are in His will!!  If only everyone could say that!

Camp is upon us!!

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

So, it’s that time of year again.  Camp season.  Our first “official” camp comes in on Monday.  The camps thus far have really just been workers getting camp ready for camp…does that make sense?? =)

Anyway, I have to get menu’s ready and last minute preparations done before Monday.  So, I probably won’t be on a lot.  I will do my paid stuff and I do have a review/GIVEAWAY coming up, but I won’t have a lot of spare time to peruse my bloggy friends stuff, although I will try to see what everyone has going on!!

The Core…

Friday, June 4th, 2010

In the light of the fact that I am trying to lose some weight, I suppose I should add some sort of exercise to my daily routine.  More than just a walk here and there…. I have a small exercise trampoline I can use and I have a Wii exercise “game” as well, but with camps starting,  soon it’s going to be all about TIME and my lack of it, for personal use, anyway! I have heard, though, if you get your core workout in, the rest will fall in line…anyone know a good ab workout ?

I’m not looking to get “built” or anything like that, I just want to be healthy and of course, look good in my clothes (preferably a few sizes smaller)  =)

DO YOU KNOW FOR SURE HEAVEN WILL BE YOUR HOME??

Did you know you COULD know for sure…many don’t!!  There are just a few things you need to do in order to know that!!  The actual work has already been done, but you must accept what has been done!!  Let me show you…

  • First, you must realize that God loves you. ~ John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in Him should not perish , but have everlasting life.” Whosoever means anyone and everyone who believes!!
  • Secondly, you must realize that everyone is a sinner. ~ Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” All means every single person!!
  • Thirdly, you must realize that sin has a price that must be paid. ~ Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.” When you have a job, you earn a wage (money)…when you sin you earn a wage (death or separation from God in hell) .
  • Fourthly, you must realize that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead to pay your sin debt for you. ~ Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
  • Finally, you must pray, ask Jesus Christ to be your Saviour, and claim His promise of eternal life. ~ Romans 10:9, 13 “Thas if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised  Him form the dead, thou shalt be saved…For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you have already accepted Christ as your Saviour, Congratulations!!  IF you are saved and on your way to heaven and you haven’t yet gotten into  good, Bible believing, Bible preaching Church, I would do so as soon as you can and find out how you can serve those in your community.

If you have just asked Jesus Christ as you Saviour as a result of reading this , please leave me a comment so I can pray for you.  You should get into a good, Bible believing, Bible preaching Church just as soon as you can and find out how you can serve those in your community.  I would also suggest you talk to someone about scriptural Baptism.  If you have questions about that, I can help you, just let me know!!

If you know anyone who isn’t sure they would go to heaven when they die, please share this important information with them.  I know it can be a daunting task, but isn’t it worth it to be secure in where you/they will spend eternity? Because, hey , we WILL ALL have to spend eternity SOMEWHERE!! I prefer HEAVEN!!

Insurance, Schminsurance!! =)

Friday, May 28th, 2010

I have done some posts about life insurance before and I have stated that many people don’t carry life insurance on their children.  I think in most cases, people probably just don’t think about it.  In some cases, though, I think people don’t want to think about it!! What about you? Do you carry life insurance on your children?? Do you have any on your spouse or yourself?

Life Insurance is something we don’t like to think or talk about, because we feel in some way that it makes dying more real or that it might jinx us in some silly way.  I think it’s necessary, though, because the cost of EVERYTHING is so high!!

Memorial Weekend!!

Friday, May 28th, 2010

So, Memorial Weekend is here!! This is the jump start of our summer camp season here at Fort Faith Camp!!  It’s so exciting!! =)

I won’t be around much in the next few days because I am the head cook at camp and I will be slaving in the hot kitchen all weekend!! I love my “job”!!! Plan to help out some, too, with the chores as I am able!!

Let us not forget the “reason” for this weekend and remember all the fallen heroes that make this country what it is!! I believe our country is, always has been, and always will be the greatest!!!

Have a safe and happy Weekend!!

and as always…

My Eli

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Every year, since he went to heaven, we go and plant flowers at my sons grave site.  We take “the girl” (my daughter) out of school and we go with my mother-in-law, my husbands grandma, his sister and some cousins of his and we all go down to the cemetery to plant flowers.  Several other family members are buried in this same cemetery so, we visit all of the grave sites and put flowers on all of them.

We don’t visit Eli’s grave very often because it makes us sad to be there and because we know it’s only his earthly body there. He (his soul, his spirit, all that made him him) is in heaven where we will join him someday when we are done with this earthly life.

Why God chose to take my son home at the tender age of 10, I may never know, but I trust that He has a reason and that He is in control.  Nothing happens in my life that doesn’t have His stamp of approval on it.  Anyway, I thought I would share these photos with you …

In the first one, you can actually see all four of us!! (Eli’s picture is engraved in the stone)   =)

We have faith that our son is in heaven with his Saviour, Jesus Christ…Do you know where you are going when you die?? You can!! Leave me a comment if you don’t know or to tell me why you do!!

and as always…
