The Truth Comes Out

I know just enough about my blog to get me trouble.  Seriously.  I can get into a lot of trouble.  I have deleted important stuff trying to change fonts.  I have deleted important stuff trying to change wording.  I have deleted important stuff trying change pictures.

It’s crazy up in here.  I have no idea what I’m doing.  Well that’s not exactly true.  I know enough to get on here and write a post and publish it.  I can check my stats. I could probably add a fancy pdf page counter if I really wanted to.  Fun stuff like that, but I have been known to do some crazy stuff like delete the whole blog somehow and then I have to get in through a back door somewhere and reload the whole darn thing!

It scares me cause I really don’t know what I’m doing some times.  I love blogging and I like to think I know what I’m doing, but I guess I really don’t know much.  I have tried to get into all that HTML stuff but, I just don’t get it.  My brain just isn’t wired for it, I’m afraid.

Maybe someday I’ll smarten up?!?

The Online World

I know someone who is dragging her feet every step of the way as far as technology goes.  She doesn’t like cell phones, computers, ipods, mp3 players, or pretty much any other piece of technology that is “intelligent”.

She refuses to e-mail unless she has to.  She hates using the Internet.  She will not make electronic payments because she is convinced that everyone is trying to steal her personal information.  And she thinks any one who likes computers, Internet and blogging (me) is silly.

Me personally, I love the internet, blogging, technology, the nine yards, I think it’s fun and exciting all that we can do today.  We can keep in touch with family and friends that don’t even live in the same state we live in!!  What with the social media and all!!

Each to his/her own, I guess…

Til next time friends

First Class…

I believe that if you are going to do something, you should do it well.  Give it your best.  Do it first class or don’t do it.

That is why we try to keep things at camp updated.  When things break, we fix them or replace them.  Or at least, we try to.  Sometimes it is hard to keep up with, I will admit.

So, Buster and I are often looking on the Internet on websites that have listings for free and or low cost items that we might be interested in such as couches, recliners, double or queen size beds, table tennis equipment, pool tables, arcade games and anything else we could use in our retreat center or game room.

Do you or anyone you know have anything we might be able to use?  Want to be a blessing??  You could donate it to the camp!!

Give  us a call at 231-823-2118 and ask for Jimmy!!  Thanks!!

Anti-Tech…

Some friends of ours are so anti-technology it’s not funny (okay, it’s a little funny…but more annoying than anything, lol).

They refuse to get internet (but will use ours a couple times a week), they refuse to get call waiting, Caller ID, conference call services, or any other “extras on their phones” because they don’t want to pay extra for something they don’t feel they need.  I’m surprised they even have a cell phone!!!

With the economy the way it is right now, if you don’t have a skill set of any kind, it’s probably really hard to find a job.  You add having a family to the mix and it gets even messier.  A lot of parents are having a hard time with balancing a job, a home and schooling.

That’s what’s nice about online degree programs.  Most of them allow you to work at your own pace and on your own time, meaning you can “go to class” right in your own home, after the kids go to bed for the night, or while they are doing homework, or whenever is convenient for you…

Again, You’re Welcome!!   ;)

Blogtastic!!

I had been blogging for a very short time when I heard that you could actually make money doing it.  A friend of mine told me she was making $200-$300 every two weeks just doing paid posts on her blog.  So, I thought I would check it out and see if I could make money at it.  Almost two years later, I am making some money, and I am loving it, but I feel like with the right connections, I could be making much more.  So when I heard about business2blogger, you can imagine how excited I was to check it out!!   They do all the hard work for you, FOR FREE!!! They connect the right businesses to the right bloggers and the right bloggers to the right businesses.  So, now that I am signed up with them, maybe I can finally start making some real money doing what I love to do!!  Thanks for a great opportunity guys!!

SAT help….

SAT tests…wow, that brings back memories.  It’s things like this that really make me feel old!!  I don’t even remember what I got on mine..does anyone? Maybe it’s just me, cause I don’t think I did real hot, but I don’t know.  Now you can actually study for them online with LSAT prep .  How’s that for convenient?? I think back when I took mine, the best they could do was a pamphlet that the school handed out…..sign of the times, eh??

new laptop…

Buster thinks he needs a new laptop computer.  The one we have is just this monster of a thing.  It has all the bells and whistles he wanted when he bought it, but it’s huge!! It isn’t comfortable to have to hold on your lap.  I found this out on our 8 hour derive to Kentucky last SUMMER.  Yes, I said summer, and it was HOT!!! Then I had this monstrosity of a computer on my lap.   Come to think of it,  I think Buster is right!! We need a new laptop, anyone know a good one that is inexpensive?? :)

transferring my domain….

i will likely be gone for a week or more while my domain is transferred to another server, thank you for your patience while i do this!! see you soon!!

To blog or not to blog, that is the question…

OK. This is my dilema….

I love to blog and I love to read blogs. I now live in an area where internet will either have to be off of a cell-phone service or dial up. Both of these are painfully slow. But in order to blog everyday and keep up on blogs I like, I would really need internet at home.

The other problem is I pay for my domain name and hosting for my site. I did have one through wordpress at one time, but they don’t like you to do paid posts on their blogs. And since I like to do paid posts now and then for Ebay money, I need a site where I can do so. So, do I go back to wordpress or blogger and just post when I can get to a computer with internet and forgo the paid posts or do I continue to pay for my site for the occasional diet pill post and deal with dial up or cell connection??

Or, do I just give up on the whole blogging thing in general??? I hate the thought of that, but I am busier and busier all the time anyway ,so I don’t know what to do????????????

New laptop…

Hubs and I are shopping for a new laptop.  The one he has now is just too big.   It is a 17 ” widescreen.  We like to use it when we travel and such, but because of it’s size,  it’s not real practical for that.  We have been looking for good laptop deals.  I would like to be able to use it to blog as well, so it has to have the right amount of RAM and disk space and all that. I hope we find one we like that we can afford soon.  Anyone have a favorite they can recommend??
