Look Look!
Posted on December 13, 2011The ‘Hubs’ is obviously ‘The man’. Look what he did last night. And it only took him about 10 minutes.
I know the picture’s a little dark, but when I used the flash, you couldn’t see the lights, which is kinda the point…don’t they look cool! I love it. I have always wanted this kind of ‘under cabinet’ lighting and now I have it! It isn’t just for the holidays, it’s staying under there! It’s so cool…
Just thought I would share that with y’all. Don’t be jealous, you can do it, too!! It’s just the multi-color rope lighting!!
Taking Care..
Posted on October 24, 2011Practicing what I preach is not once of my finer qualities, unfortunately. And I know it. And I think everyone who knows me know it, too. Yeah, it’s kind of one of those well known facts that is like the elephant in the room that doesn’t even need to be talked about.
I am always telling the hubs to be careful when working with this or that, ya know hounding him about material handling and whathaveyou. And then I go and clean the bathrooms up at camp at use all these caustic cleaners and such with no ventilation and I’m breathing it in and I’m coughing and spitting and sputtering.
So, yeah, I need to learn to turn the fans on and or wear a mask when I’m cleaning or something because I think I am/going to do serious harm to myself with these cleaning supplies I am using weekly when cleaning up at camp. I am already having some issues with my chest/lungs lately.
Free Dating?!?
Posted on October 13, 2011I’m bored… Buster is over pouring cement right now for the dam. Actually, I think they finished that yesterday, so I’m not sure exactly what he’s doing…He has been working 24/7 lately it seems like. Busy busy, that guy! And with me passing out again, I haven’t been able to do much. I have been working on trying to get my house clean today, as much as I can since I haven’t been doing much the last few days.
Yeah, so you don’t think my husband will mind if I try out a little free dating, do you? You know, while he’s busy pouring cement and whathaveyou? What? You think he’ll have a problem with that? Psshhh, he’s a very understanding guy! I just need someone to ya know, take me out to dinner, maybe a movie, take me shopping. Then they can bring me home so I can spend a romantic evening with my husband. Is that too much to ask?
I am a GENIUS, no?
The Girls…
Posted on October 03, 2011Here at camp we have a “petting farm”. We have two miniature donkeys, two miniature horses, a couple of goats, some chickens, and two full size horses. The fulls size horses are June and Katie. We often just refer to them as “The Girls”. They are so pretty, but they are a lot of work.
As a kid I remember wanting horses. My parents were always telling me no. Giving me excuses about how expensive horse equipment is, blah blah blah…when in reality, I think they just didn’t want to deal with it. Not that it isn’t expensive, it can be. They just thought I was going to get the animal and then decide I didn’t want to take care of it a week later, which may or may not have happened. I guess we’ll never know, because it never happened.
And I’m still bitter about it, can you tell?
No, not really, I’m kinda glad I didn’t get everything I wanted as a kid, it make me thankful for the little things and grateful for what I did have.
First Class…
Posted on July 20, 2011I believe that if you are going to do something, you should do it well. Give it your best. Do it first class or don’t do it.
That is why we try to keep things at camp updated. When things break, we fix them or replace them. Or at least, we try to. Sometimes it is hard to keep up with, I will admit.
So, Buster and I are often looking on the Internet on websites that have listings for free and or low cost items that we might be interested in such as couches, recliners, double or queen size beds, table tennis equipment, pool tables, arcade games and anything else we could use in our retreat center or game room.
Do you or anyone you know have anything we might be able to use? Want to be a blessing?? You could donate it to the camp!!
Give us a call at 231-823-2118 and ask for Jimmy!! Thanks!!
Some Day…
Posted on July 06, 2011Some day, after we sell our house, or when we become rich and famous, whichever comes first, the hubster and I would like to add on to the little house we live in. It’s nice and cozy and isn’t really a bad little house at all, but there is no storage at all and really no room to entertain, which we would love to do if we had the space.
We have been talking about some of the things we’d like to do. We have discussed putting in a dishwasher. Maybe adding a few more cupboards to the kitchen. I figured while we are working on the kitchen, and since we plan on staying here forever, why not make my ideal kitchen….nice gas range with sealed burners and the center burner, dishwasher, one of those undermount sinks, a side by side fridge, you know, the works. If were gonna do, we might as well do it big!!
Go big or go home, I always say!!!
Then we’d like to add a nice size family room and make what is now living room into dining area and make the “dining” area more kitchen area. Just to make it so everything isn’t on top of everything else.
Also, we are thinking a bigger master bathroom might be nice. With a tub in it. Right now our bathroom only has a shower. Which most days is fine, but sometimes I like to soak in a nice warm bath and I have always wanted one of those jacuzzi bath tubs!!
Anyway, it’s a long ways off and nothing we can’t live without for now and we are content with what we have, but hey, a girl can dream , can’t she???
Must Haves…
Posted on June 18, 2011Okay, by a show of hand (giggle) I want to know how many of you actually own a full home theater system…
Okay…
Now, by another show of hands (more giggles), how many of you just have those little speakers propped up in the corners of the room that are hooked up to the receiver you already have??
Okay…
Is there a difference?? Do I have to have a big fancy home theater system or can I get by with just the bare minimum?? My husband would have me believe we MUST have the whole nine yards, the whole kit ‘n’ caboodle, the whole enchilada, the whole….okay, you get the idea…
While we’re on the subject, am I the only one with a husband who has to have the volume jacked up so loud when watching a movie that you actually feel like you are IN a movie theater while you are watching a movie in your living room???? Love you honey……
Saturday Snapshot…
Posted on June 04, 2011So I’ve been looking for new content for the ol’ blogaroo and also for fun stuff to do on here…and I came across this…Saturday Snapshot and thought I’d play along, so here we go….
“Lady Slippers”
Hubby found these beauties while out riding quads with friends on the property the other day. Aren’t they gorgeous???
Aging Myself, Again
Posted on May 24, 2011Anyone remember when those nose strips came out??? You know the ones that were claimed to get rid of blackheads on noses??
I haven’t seen a commercial for them in a while. I wonder if that’s because they were a flop, or if the fad has just died down.
They were pretty popular there for a while. Anyone ever use them?? Did they work for you??
I bought them a couple times but don’t really remember them working all that well…
I really need to get well so I don’t have so much time to sit around and think so much!! LOL
Still Nothing…

Which One Are/Were You??
Posted on March 25, 2011Another Poll…
Not that anyone participated in the last one, lol.
By a show of hands (haha), how many of you actually bought and wore maternity clothes during your pregnancy/pregnancies?
I know woman who were small enough to just go up a size and wear “normal” clothing right up til they delivered. I also know women who simply wore their husbands/boyfriends clothes for a few months just before having their kids.
I bought a few maternity clothes, mostly second hand (Goodwill). Between the few I bought and my husbands sweats and shirts I could fit in, I was good to go.
Which one are/were you??
UPDATE
Posted on March 14, 2011Doc says “No significant abnormalities” on the MRI. Whatever that means. So, I guess more tests to figure out what is going on? I have an EEG in April, but not sure what else will have to happen.
Still no passing out and it’s a little after 3PM, so far so good….
