The Truth Comes Out
Posted on November 29, 2011I know just enough about my blog to get me trouble. Seriously. I can get into a lot of trouble. I have deleted important stuff trying to change fonts. I have deleted important stuff trying to change wording. I have deleted important stuff trying change pictures.
It’s crazy up in here. I have no idea what I’m doing. Well that’s not exactly true. I know enough to get on here and write a post and publish it. I can check my stats. I could probably add a fancy pdf page counter if I really wanted to. Fun stuff like that, but I have been known to do some crazy stuff like delete the whole blog somehow and then I have to get in through a back door somewhere and reload the whole darn thing!
It scares me cause I really don’t know what I’m doing some times. I love blogging and I like to think I know what I’m doing, but I guess I really don’t know much. I have tried to get into all that HTML stuff but, I just don’t get it. My brain just isn’t wired for it, I’m afraid.
Maybe someday I’ll smarten up?!?
Small Business Opportunities…
Posted on November 21, 2011The Small Business Opportunities out there are unbelievable! Everything from at-home businesses like my little one to little store fronts. Any one can have a business now.
I had a small business a few years back selling make up, too. I did pretty well, but ended up spending more than I made in the end. It really wasn’t for me. I didn’t have the time or money I wanted to spend on the meetings and networking I really needed to make the kind of money I wanted to.
If you are into fixing cars or doing body work, you can even get auto body estimating software for your computer. That’s helpful, it pretty much does the work for you, taking the guess work out of what to charge your customers.
I am currently trying to start up a cup cake business, with a friend out of my home. It was a nightmare trying to come up with prices. We are still trying to adjust them. Only because some take cake flour, some all-purpose, some gluten-free. They don’t all cost the same. Some cup cakes have fruit in them, some have candy or fruit. Candy isn’t as expensive as fruit (generally). So, we think we’ll have to change the prices to be for each specific cup cake instead of blanket pricing.
Anyway, small business is big business right now! we are looking forward to having fun with mine and seeing what we can do! What are you doing in life right now? Got anything new going on? Anything big?

Posted on October 25, 2011I know someone who is dragging her feet every step of the way as far as technology goes. She doesn’t like cell phones, computers, ipods, mp3 players, or pretty much any other piece of technology that is “intelligent”.
She refuses to e-mail unless she has to. She hates using the Internet. She will not make electronic payments because she is convinced that everyone is trying to steal her personal information. And she thinks any one who likes computers, Internet and blogging (me) is silly.
Me personally, I love the internet, blogging, technology, the nine yards, I think it’s fun and exciting all that we can do today. We can keep in touch with family and friends that don’t even live in the same state we live in!! What with the social media and all!!
Each to his/her own, I guess…

Posted on October 14, 2011OHMYGOODNESS!! I was dusting today, trying to get my house cleaned up for company coming tomorrow and I couldn’t believe the tangled mess behind the computer desk. It is a good thing I’m married to someone smarter that me cause I can’t tell ya the difference between computer video cables and usb cables and this and that or the next thing. It’s all the same to me I tell ya!
And all the dust and cob webs. It’s like it’s drawn to them! Although, I’m pretty sure it really is, something about static electricity and all that jazz look at me all my smarty pants). Anyways, it was a disaster area back there, but I got it all cleaned up now and it’s looking much better now! Just thought you’d all like to know that! It’s one thing I hate to do so I don’t do it very often. How often do you dust behind your computer equipment??

When you are living on a very limited budget, you don’t really have a choice but to be about saving money. But even if I wasn’t on a limited budget, I would be about saving money! Because really, why would I spend more than I have to!
I know some people have the mentality that “Hey, I have the money, why not spend it?” Um, NO!! That is not me! I am all for saving money anywhere and everywhere I can.

new laptop…
Posted on September 02, 2009Buster thinks he needs a new laptop computer. The one we have is just this monster of a thing. It has all the bells and whistles he wanted when he bought it, but it’s huge!! It isn’t comfortable to have to hold on your lap. I found this out on our 8 hour derive to Kentucky last SUMMER. Yes, I said summer, and it was HOT!!! Then I had this monstrosity of a computer on my lap. Come to think of it, I think Buster is right!! We need a new laptop, anyone know a good one that is inexpensive??

OK. This is my dilema….
I love to blog and I love to read blogs. I now live in an area where internet will either have to be off of a cell-phone service or dial up. Both of these are painfully slow. But in order to blog everyday and keep up on blogs I like, I would really need internet at home.
The other problem is I pay for my domain name and hosting for my site. I did have one through wordpress at one time, but they don’t like you to do paid posts on their blogs. And since I like to do paid posts now and then for Ebay money, I need a site where I can do so. So, do I go back to wordpress or blogger and just post when I can get to a computer with internet and forgo the paid posts or do I continue to pay for my site for the occasional diet pill post and deal with dial up or cell connection??
Or, do I just give up on the whole blogging thing in general??? I hate the thought of that, but I am busier and busier all the time anyway ,so I don’t know what to do????????????

I have an idea for you…Why not get him a flash drive for Father’s Day?? They are portable, easy to use and handy to have!! My husband has several of them that he uses for different things. They are affordable and useful!! Unlike that trout tie you bought him last year, you know the one he will never wear… ;)
New laptop…
Posted on March 25, 2009Hubs and I are shopping for a new laptop. The one he has now is just too big. It is a 17 ” widescreen. We like to use it when we travel and such, but because of it’s size, it’s not real practical for that. We have been looking for good laptop deals. I would like to be able to use it to blog as well, so it has to have the right amount of RAM and disk space and all that. I hope we find one we like that we can afford soon. Anyone have a favorite they can recommend??

Posted on February 18, 2009A while back, I won an MP3 player in a giveaway, and I also won some i-tunes gift cards. What i am wondering is if you can use these gift cards with MP3 players? On the cards they say you can download music to ipods and computers, but it doesn’t say anything about MP3 players. I have had some people try to help me with this but I haven’t figured it out yet!!
I am computer, ipod, MP3 player illiterate!! Basically anything electronic is over my head!! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!! Be blessed!!
