today i got a call from our realtor.  the young couple put an offer in on our house.  i am only going to say that it was $10,000 less than what we are asking for the house, which is already priced  $12,000 less than what we paid for it and has a newly renovated bathroom and an enclosed porch that was open when we moved in.

i was a little offended if i am going to be honest.  the house is worth twice what they want to pay for it and they are taking advantage of us.  we really would like to sell our house, and we have been praying for that to happen, but we are not going to give it away…we can’t afford to.

thankfully we have a friend who is going to rent the house,  giving her a bigger house for her and her 4 kids that is closer to her church and closer to the kid’s school.  we are happy that she will have more space and the rent we will get will pay our bills and help with yearly taxes.

the moral of this little story?? when God closes a door, he always opens another.  He may not answer our prayers exactly the way we think He should, but He always answers them!!

and i have only lost 6 pounds!!!

here i thought i was gonna lose at least 10, but no, only 6…

i guess that’s better than none, but i was hoping for more…

i guess as long as i continue to go down, i will try to be happy about such little loss…

i am thankful for it, but it’s very frustrating for me as i know i have a lot to lose and it will take some time.  like i said, patience is not my forte!! AT.ALL.

If you are leaving people behind, you want to make sure they can take care of themselves and not have to worry about things like  how they are going to afford a funeral, burial, etc. and also what they are going to do for money in the months and years following your death.  I know its a touchy subject that no one wants to talk about, but really, if you don’t, only your loved ones will suffer.

don’t get me wrong, she is still tiny (under 90 pounds) and sweet, but she is.not.a.baby!! she is turning into this beautiful, opinionated, self-sufficient young lady.  right.in.front.of.my.eyes.  i can’t believe she is a teenager (will be 14 in October) and will be in high school next year!! she is strong in her faith and not easily swayed when it comes to her standards.  she is the perfect mix of girly girl and tom boy…who loves to hunt and fish but who also loves to wear lip gloss and fingernail polish.

as if that’s not enough to make me crazy, if my son were still alive, he would be 16 and a junior in high school this year and driving!!!! the time has gone too fast.  i want it to slow down some, but alas, i do not have that kind of control.

i often wonder what lil’ buster would be like now.  how tall would he be?  how deep would his voice be?  would he still be the generous, silly, “all boy”, faithful, kind, tender-hearted person he was at the age of ten?? i know he would be different somewhat, but would he have kept those qualities?? i would like to think so, but kids sometimes change when they become teens.

so, as i send my daughter off to her first day of 8th grade this year, i think on these things and thank God for His tender mercies and is bountiful blessings.  God is good and He has been so kind and generous to me.  even in the trials and the losses, He has always provided peace and comfort and blessings.

We “preach” at our kids all day long about making the right choices and decisions for themselves, but are we sure we have told them about the most important decision they could ever make?  Have we told them they can know for sure that they can go to heaven someday when they die?  Some of you may not know that yourselves, I realize that.  BUT YOU CAN KNOW…there are just a few things you need to do in order to know that!!  The actual work has already been done, but you must accept what has been done!!  Let me show you…

• First, you must realize that God loves you. ~ John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in Him should not perish , but have everlasting life.“ Whosoever means anyone and everyone who believes!!
  

• Secondly, you must realize that everyone is a sinner. ~ Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” All means every single person!!
  

• Thirdly, you must realize that sin has a price that must be paid. ~ Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.” When you have a job, you earn a wage (money)…when you sin you earn a wage (death or separation from God in hell) .
  

• Fourthly, you must realize that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead to pay your sin debt for you. ~ Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

• Finally, you must pray, ask Jesus Christ to be your Saviour, and claim His promise of eternal life. ~ Romans 10:9, 13 “Thas if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised  Him form the dead, thou shalt be saved…For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you or anyone you know isn’t sure they would go to heaven when they die, please read/share this important information with them.  I know it can be a daunting task, but isn’t it worth it to be secure in where you/they will spend eternity? Because, hey , we WILL ALL have to spend eternity SOMEWHERE!! I prefer HEAVEN!!

Since the Church has a refrigerator, microwave, sink and dishwasher, but no stove/oven, we all have to bring our hot dishes in in crock pots. It’s not a big deal, really.  Actually it’s convenient to keep your stuff hot in a crock pot.  My problem was bringing soup or stew or anything else that could slop around  and get all over everything!

A friend of mine brought one of these to Church…

So, when CSN Stores contacted me to do a review for them again, I went to one of their over 200+ stores looking for this fantastic gem.  And sure enough, they had one and it was the right price.  So I ordered it, got it and used it!!

This crock pot is awesome!!   It has these clamps on both sides and little hooks that they latch onto.  You simply put the latch over the hook, pull down on the clamp and it clamps the lid down.  The lid has a black rubber (I assume it’s rubber) gasket that goes all the way around it, so when clamped down it makes an air/water/soup tight seal!! =)

This last Sunday I man split pea and sausage SOUP!! Yes, I said SOUP!!  I really wanted to see if this baby would live up to my expectations.  Guess what??

NO LEAKS!!!  We live on a dirt road that isn’t smooth at all and there are so many bumps, I thought for sure it would leak some.  It.Didn’t.Leak.At.ALL.  It was amazing.  The High sitting got the soup nice and hot like it was supposed to and it turned out great….don’t think I’ll make that soup again (it wasn’t my favorite) but I’ll definitely use the crock pot again!!!

I give this Crock Pot ♥♥♥♥ (4 hearts)!!!

(since I don’t have stars on my character thingy, I will use hearts for rating on my reviews…1 heart being very poor, 2 hearts being poor, 3 hearts being average, 4 hearts being good and 5  hearts being very good).

The only thing that I would change on this is I would give it Cool Touch sides, this baby gets HOT!!!!

We still don’t get a lot with the digital antenna we have, but it’s better than if we didn’t have one at all.  It seems like ever since they changed from analog, the channel selection is actually less than before!  I think we have more problems with pixelation and stuff like that than we ever have…

Does anyone know if indoor antenna’s do any good??  I often wonder how they could because they are so small and they don’t look like they are made of much.  But then again, I don’t know anything about how they actually work, so….

I also don’t understand why you have to have 75,000 cables hooked from the antenna to the TV, and the TV to the DVD player and the DVD player to the receiver and the….OMG ( oh my goodness)!!  It’s all just too much, but I digress….

Jut like today, I am gonna tell you about how easy it is to get affordable health coverage in!! Albeit, NC short term health insurance.  Still the same, it is affordable insurance!!  Actually it is for students who aren’t covered under a parent’s plan anymore or students who attend school out of their home State.  Did you know some schools make it mandatory to have insurance??? WOW!!

You can’t dry your hands off as fast if you move your hands too fast, you have to let the air blow on them for a little bit, move them, blow a little more, move them….you get the idea…so it’s really annoying when all the sudden the thing just turns off!!! OK, I’m done complaining, for now.
