Ohgoodness!!
Posted on December 12, 2011I have cupcakes on the brain!
I eat , sleep, drink, breath cupcakes lately. Not a bad thing if you like cupcake, which I do! I am constantly looking up cupcakes on this site and that site. Here an there and everywhere. I and always talking about my cupcake business this and my cupcake business that. My poor husband has just about had it I think. He is such a patient man.
I’ve been talking to my ‘business partner’ and we giggle like school children (which is funny because she is a freshman in high school and I am in my thirties not a freshman in high school, hahahaha) about how we want to get a little shop and decorate it all cute in hot pink and have everything ‘cupcake’. From the curtains to the switchplate covers.
Yeah, you read that right. They make cupcake switchplate covers, pretty wild, huh? That’s what I thought , too! So, the next step for us is to go and see a man about a license and see what all that entails. Just because some day I wanna do more than just person to person sales out of my kitchen (I’m happy to do that for now, but some day…) I’m hoping and praying it only entails a little paperwork and a little elbow grease and not a lot of $$ cause that I don’t have a lot of.
So, some prayers would be appreciated and if you’d like to help in the $$ department, I’d be happy to give you my PayPal address

Now This You Really Might Have to Have ;)

Cool Stuff You Have to Have! (OR Not)
Posted on December 09, 2011I came across something today that I thought was interesting. Coins. Not just any coins, though. I have heard of collector’s coins before. Silver coins. Gold coins. Uncirculated coins. Proof sets. The list goes on and on.
One thing I’ve never heard of before, personalized coins. Yes, that’s right, you can buy coins that have just about anything on them. Of course, you can’t spend them. They are obviously for collecting purpose’s only.
I thought for all those genealogy buffs out there it might cool to get your family crest on coins and give them to your family for Christmas gifts or something fun like that.
What are you buying this year for Christmas for your loved ones?
She Did Not Just Say That!
Posted on December 06, 2011One thing I’m glad I don’t need to worry about any more is being pregnant. I am done having babies. Thank the Good Lord! Don’t get me wrong, I love babies. As long as you can cuddle and love them and then hand them back to their mother!
But one thing I find a little irksome is that back in the day when I would have found plus size maternity clothes helpful, you couldn’t really find them anywhere. Not ones you wanted to wear anyway. You could find plenty of them with loud, wild prints that made you look as big as the side of a barn, but who wants to look like that?
Now I can find really cute clothes that make me look like the radiant mother-to-be that I am (if I was) and not just some bigger-than-a-barn heifer who can’t keep her hand out of the cookie jar! Yeah, I just said that, for real!
So, go get yourself some cute looking maternity clothes, or not, it’s your choice…
See Ya!
Saving a Penny…
Posted on December 05, 2011Sometimes you get what you pay for. Sometimes you don’t. Let me explain. There are times where it pays to spend more on something. Jewelry, for example. Going from 14K gold to 10K gold isn’t really going to make a huge difference in the look of a piece. The value will go down as will the cost. If you trying to save a little money, it’s an easy way to do so, without really comprising the integrity of your purchase. You’re still getting a nice item. If you have some kind of allergy to cheaper metals, this won’t work for you (my MIL can’t wear anything less than 14K gold).
On the other hand, sometimes you don’t want to buy cheaper jewelry. My husband bought me one of those pretty mother rings from a local retail store and the stones kept falling out. We kept taking it back and they kept replacing them. They didn’t give us any problems about replacing them, but finally I just returned it and got my money back. But for the record, The ring wasn’t that cheap! We spent the same amount you would anywhere else you would buy the same ring! (Okay, maybe not quite as much, but still)…
The point is, some things (flour, sugar, butter, some soups, some jewelry, some pasta, napkins, etc,) you can buy random inexpensive brands or whatever happens to be on sale at the store when you are there. Other things (chocolate, cream soups, certain pastas, eggs, lunch meats, etc) you have certain brands that you buy because they are known to produce a good quality product!

Home Made Gifts…
Posted on December 04, 2011Buster and I are on a very limited budget as usual this year. Which suits us just fine, because we love to make and give home made gifts to our loved ones. It’s one of my favorite things to do! It’s exhausting, but I love it!
Here are a few of the things I made this last week for Saturday’s family Christmas…
Dipped Pretzels Nom Nom Nom…
Never mind the Jo-Lyn’s stamp on the picture…that’s my other blog for my cup cake/candy biz.
These are a couple of the Chocolate Spoons ‘The Girl’ and I made. Don’t they look yummy?
MMMMM…yummy Candy Cane Marshmallows
Buster wasn’t feeling well when we went to the store to pick up the things I needed to make the goodies so he sat in the car while ‘The Girl’ and I shopped. Because we were in a hurry I completely forgot to buy something to put the goodies in once they were made. I bought these cute paper doilies to make tags with but nothing to put them on…
I scribbled out the names after I uploaded them on the computer…
So when we got the goodies made we had to put them in brown paper bag and attach the pretty home made tags on them. They turned out kinda cute I think…
Not too shabby, If I do say so myself! And I just did!
See You Soon!
Ice Cream
Posted on December 03, 2011I tried to make home made ice cream today. Ice cream I can eat without having to worry about my cholesterol going sky high and without gaining the 41 lb.’s I’ve managed to lose back!
I wasn’t impressed. I mean, it wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t wonderful, either! It was my own fault, I didn’t follow directions. I’m good at that. Not following directions. Yeah, just ask anyone who knows me.
It’s a problem, I’m working on it…
Aaanywho…My bananas weren’t ripe enough, so they weren’t sweet enough. *insert sad face here*
So, when you make yours, make sure you have very ripe bananas!!
Home Made Ice Cream
Find this:
- 4 very ripe bananas, sliced and frozen at least one hour
- 2 T. creamy peanut butter
- 2 t. cocoa powder
Do this:
- slice your bananas
- freeze your sliced bananas for at least one hour
- process your frozen bananas in a food processor until they are smooth like whipped topping (this will take some time, they may become course like gravel before they become smooth)
- once your bananas are smooth add your peanut butter and cocoa and mix until blended well
- serve once blended to enjoy like soft serve or refreeze to enjoy like hand dipped ice cream
Since my bananas were quite green I added some splenda to my ice cream to sweeten it up. My ice cream also turned out quite dark in color because I used dark cocoa powder. Next time I will use regular cocoa powder and ripe bananas and I won’t have to use splenda and it won’t be so dark!
I didn’t think to take the picture til I had my ice cream half eaten! Hahaha…
Rewards Cards
Posted on December 01, 2011Rewards cards are a really good way to #1 save money, as you can often get a percentage off on purchases and #2 earn rewards on the purchases you are making. Depending on the type of card you get, you can earn different rewards.
Some cards give you cash back. Some give you gas. Some cards offer merchandise as rewards. Whatever you choose, you are sure to find something to your liking.
More often than not these cards have no annual fee to worry about and they even offer fraud protection. And, you can get a great low introductory rate on all your balance transfers from other cards to one of these reward cards!
Some friends of ours make almost all their purchases on a rewards card from a major retail store. Each time they buy something they earn points which they can spend on things in the store. When they get enough points they go and spend them in the store or online). So basically every time they buy gas, groceries, toilet paper, they are earning points to buy Christmas and Birthday presents or whatever else they want to spend their points on!
It’s great! I need to get one of these!!
What Would You Spend Your Money On?
Posted on November 30, 2011I’ve been thinking. Dangerous, I know. Teehee. We have our house up for sale and I think it would be nice for the hubs and the daughter and I to be able to spend a little of the money we get when we sell it on ourselves for whatever we want. Not a lot but just a little bit.
So, I was trying to come up with what I would spend a little bit of money on if I could. Anything I wanted. Would I spend it on make up? purses? jewelry? unlisted shoes? And then it hit me! I know exactly what I will spend my money on!!
I am going to spend money on my new cup cake business!! I need so much stuff for it! I need boxes (for transporting from parties) and carriers (for transporting to parties) and a new bowl for my mixer and….the list goes on and on, and I’ll get it all… little by little!
Life is Good , I am Blessed and I hope you are too friends,
The Truth Comes Out
Posted on November 29, 2011I know just enough about my blog to get me trouble. Seriously. I can get into a lot of trouble. I have deleted important stuff trying to change fonts. I have deleted important stuff trying to change wording. I have deleted important stuff trying change pictures.
It’s crazy up in here. I have no idea what I’m doing. Well that’s not exactly true. I know enough to get on here and write a post and publish it. I can check my stats. I could probably add a fancy pdf page counter if I really wanted to. Fun stuff like that, but I have been known to do some crazy stuff like delete the whole blog somehow and then I have to get in through a back door somewhere and reload the whole darn thing!
It scares me cause I really don’t know what I’m doing some times. I love blogging and I like to think I know what I’m doing, but I guess I really don’t know much. I have tried to get into all that HTML stuff but, I just don’t get it. My brain just isn’t wired for it, I’m afraid.
Maybe someday I’ll smarten up?!?
Cream Cheese Chicken (for 2)
Posted on November 29, 2011Yesterday was a rough day for me. I was in quite a bit of pain and was not in the mood to make lunch or do much of anything at all, really. But it had to be done and I wanted to do something quick.
So I sat here thinking to myself, wondering what I was going to do. I remembered Buster buying some chicken breast tenderloins the other day and I knew I had a couple other ingredients in the fridge that should go well together. I was like the mad scientist mixing this concoction together in my head, and I thought to myself, “self, this could work!”
MMMUUUAAHAAHHAA Just kidding, sort of.
So this is what I came up with.
Cream Cheese Chicken (for 2)
find this:
- 6 chicken breast tenderloins
- 1/2 block (about 4 oz) cream cheese
- about 1/2 -3/4 c. (I just eye balled it) sour cream
- garlic salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
- 2 T. butter, cut into pieces
do this:
- season your chicken breast tenderloins and place tenderloins in baking dish (mine were frozen, would take a lot less time to cook if you thawed them first)
- mix your cream cheese and sour cream together in a bowl
- pour cream cheese mixture over chicken
- cut your 2T. butter into pieces and just put pieces randomly into pan all over chicken and sauce
- bake at 350°F for 35-40 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink and cream cheese sauce is bubbly and hot
- periodically stir your sauce as it cooks maybe twice or three times during cooking so it will be smooth when done
This turned out really good for being thrown together very quickly. You could serve it with rice or noodles. I just served it plain with some corn. I thought about making some egg noodles, but like I said, I wasn’t feeling well, so I didn’t. Next time I will, It will be yummy!
You could make it with more chicken to feed more people or less to feed less!
Hope you enjoy it. I am linking up with Lisa for Tempt My Tummy Tuesday! Let’s go see what other goodies we can find!!
See you soon!
