The camp we live/work at just put in a new waterfall, stream and pond. They have 10 or 12 gold fish they will be adding to it when it is completely done, which will be very soon!! I have already heard complaints about someone having to go up to camp all the time to feed the fish. AND it hasn’t even happened yet, LOL. Anyway, I came up with the perfect solution!!! We need one of those automatic fish feeders!! They come with timers on them that will automatically dispense food at a set time. How cool is that? Problem solved!!

I thought it would be a great idea to start a meme of my very own. To be a part of this meme simply visit your favorite family, recipe, home, etc. blog and find a recipe you want to try OR it can just be a new recipe you are trying from anywhere! Try the recipe (make sure to take pictures and make note of any tips you find useful while making it) at home. Then blog about it (if it is from another blog, you could add a link to the original post if you wanted). It’s that simple. Once you post on your blog, come on over and link up for my weekly “Foodie Friday” Meme!!!
I am setting this up as an automatic post…should post of Friday, April 30, 2010. We shall see if I can do it right ( I will try to check it tomorrow)!! If not, we’ll just link up next week!! No worries!!
So, without further ado, I bring you (drum roll please)…
Homemade Beef Potpie
What you need:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1/2 – 1 cup beef stock
- 2 small potatoes, peeled and chopped into bite sizes
- frozen mixed veggies
- 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1 – 2 Tbsp flour
- seasoned salt to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- garlic powder, to taste
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce, more or less to taste
- hot sauce, to taste (optional)
What to do:
- Preheat oven 350°.
- Brown the hamburger meat and saute the onions with the meat. Add the seasoned salt , pepper, garlic powder to the hamburger while browning.
- Add the bite sized potatoes to the browned meat. Continue to simmer on stove top. Add, the frozen mixed veggies and Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce.
- To make a sauce, add 1-2 Tbsp of flour to the meat and veggie mixture. Adding the beef stock, stir all together over low heat, continuing to simmer the beef mixture. This creates the beef sauce. Once simmered and you are happy with your flavors, transfer the meat/ veggies to a prepared casserole dish. (next time I will use a little smaller one than my 9×13, so my crust is separated like that)
- Cover the meat with crescent rolls (see picture above).
- Bake 20-30 minutes, uncovered. You want your crescent roll topping to be nice and golden brown.
ENJOY!! Giving a shout out to Lisa for this great recipe!!!
Now for the Meme part. Link up below with your post. Please comment after linking up!!! Thanks for joining me for Foodie Friday!!!
Beating the dead horse AGAIN!!
So what is there left to say about finding diet pills that work, you ask? I really don’t know. I guess there is a huge market for diet pills these days. I personally have only tried one diet pill. It was one made specifically for women and their weight loss needs. Specifically water retention. That was one of the main areas the pill worked on. Not sure what the others were, but these pills targeted like 6 main causes of weight gain or lack of weight loss that plague women. I did not see results, but I also didn’t take them faithfully and I am the type that if I don’t see results right away, I give up!!
a little getaway and some thoughts…
so chuck and i are going away this weekend. we have a wedding to go to in ann arbor. we are going with another couple and all the kids are staying home. though i miss pumpkin_seed when she isn’t with me, i do love some one-on-one time alone with buster!! we will be leaving tomorrow around noon and getting home late saturday evening. can’t wait, it’s gonna be so much fun!! what are your plans for the weekend????
i know some of my friends are going to “the shack” for a marriage retreat this weekend. this will be the first one we have missed in ten years!! so sad we won’t be going, but hopefully the church we are attending now will start one up very soon!!
i do miss all my friends from FBC but i don’t think friends are a good a reason to stay at a church, especially when God is calling you elsewhere!! i am hoping all my friends understand that!! we aren’t mad at anyone or upset…we just feel like we can serve the Lord better somewhere else!
someone wise told me that my real friends will still be my friends and keep in touch and we’ll spend time together and the others will think about me and pray for me and say hi when they see me, but go on with their lives without me…..it pains me to think that any of my “friends” would only do that latter, but i have seen it already and it makes me very sad!! but God knows my heart and buster’s and he knows we just want to serve him to the best of our abilities and that is enough for me!
hope your weekend is great….will try to get my “foodie friday” to post for tomorrow, if it doesn’t work , i probably won’t be on here til sunday!! til then, i will miss you …
Dropping calls….
I get cell reception almost everywhere. Even in the basement of my old church, which is saying something. I used to have one of the top cellphone companies for my provider and I didn’t get that good of reception! But I do notice that if I am in some obscure place, way out tin the boonies, I do lose bars and sometimes service altogether, occasionally dropping a call. I am wondering if a cell phone booster would solve that problem?? Does anyone know if that would do the trick??

Insurance…
Medical Insurance and Life insurance are two of the most important things to people these days. And they are hard to come by. Insurance that’s affordable, anyway. I would encourage those without insurance (Life, in particular), to look into insurance quotes from your home and auto insurers. I didn’t realize until recently that some of them actually offer Life Insurance! Just something to think about!

A real skin saver…
Seems I have found the miracle cure for acne! LOL OK, OK, it’s not a miracle cure, just a really good treatment for blackheads, which by the way are the cause of most acne problems. They are very hard to get rid of because they are so deeply embedded in the skin.
I found a great product that uses 33 of natural but powerful powerful acne fighters. Millions of people have gotten get rid of ALL of their acne already! It seeps down into your pores to kill acne where it starts, at the blackhead. It’s also a great exfoliant of those gross, dead skin cells. It’s ingredients also renew and rejuvenate the skin in general.

Talking about weight loss AGAIN!!
I know I talk about weight loss a lot on here, and a lot of you are sick of it, but it’s something I struggle with, therefore I think about it A LOT. And what I think about a lot, I seem blog about a lot. Just sayin’… I think we could ALL benefit to learn more about how be healthier. Not all of us need to lose weight, but I’m sure all of us could be a little (or in my case, A LOT) healthier!! Good diet, exercise, good sleep habits, it all helps!
“Witness Wednesday”
I have been “witnessing” the same way every time since I started on my blog. Today I thought I would do something a little different. When I was 11 years old, we had an evangelist come to our Church and show us movies about the end times. You know, after Jesus comes back (which HE WILL) what happens to all those left behind. As soon as I saw it, I knew I needed to have Jesus Christ as my Savior!! I wanted nothing to do with what happens after He comes back!!
How you come to Christ isn’t really as important as making sure YOU DO!!! Here are the things you need to realize in order to do just that…I could quote a bunch of scriptures from the Bible to cement the points I am making, but I’m not going to. I’m going to be short and to the point.
1. We are all sinners. Every one of us!!
2. We all deserve hell. Every one of us!!
3. God, the One who made us , loved us so much that He sent His Son to pay that hell debt for us when He died on the cross some 2,000 + years ago, because He was the only one who could!!
4. We have to accept that He is the one and only way to get to heaven. We have to believe in our hearts that only taking Jesus as our Savior can get us to heaven.
Folks, it’s just that easy!! A God who loves us as much as ours wouldn’t make something so important difficult for us to do!!! Church can’t get ya there, baptism can’t get ya there, your good works can’t get ya there, ONLY JESUS can get you to heaven!! IF you believe everything I just told you, please take a moment to repeat this sinners prayer, asking Jesus to take you to heaven some day when you die.
Dear Jesus,
I am a sinner deserving hell. I know you died on the cross, paying my hell debt for me. Please take me to heaven some day when I die. I believe you are my one and only way to get there. Thank you saving me from hell…. Amen
Now, let me clarify, saying this prayer does not get you to heaven, believing it in your heart is what gets you to heaven!! If you have already accepted Christ as your Savior, congratulations!! If you have not or know someone who has not, please take a moment to read this or read it to that someone.
