YUMMY!! That’s all I have to say about this recipe!!

PICADILLO PITA WEDGES

What you need

  • 1 lb. ground beef, cooked and drained
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (16 oz) jar salsa
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/4 c. chopped pimento stuffed olives
  • 2 T. red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 t. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 t. ground cumin
  • 1/4 c. slivered almonds, toasted

Slivered almonds, toasted for garnish

Toasted pita wedges or bagel chips

What to do

  • In a 3 1/2 -4 quart slow cooker stir together beef, onion, garlic, salsa, raisins, olives, vinegar, cinnamon and cumin.
  • Cover and cook on low heat setting for 6-8 hours or on high heat setting for 3 – 4 hours.
  • Stir in 1/4 c. slivered almonds.  Sprinkle with additional almonds and serve as a dip with toasted pita wedges or bagel chips.
