Insurance…

Posted on September 18, 2009

I know most of us pay house insurance and car insurance.  Some pay for health insurance…but how many of us think about  rv insurance??  I mean, really.  Isn’t an RV covered under house insurance??  Probably only if it is parked at your home and maybe not even then!!  I know hubby and I had a car burn when  a family members garage went up in flames and his insurance wouldn’t pay any of the replacement for it because it was insurable on it’s own, might be something to think about!!

Headaches…

Posted on September 17, 2009

I have had a headache every day this week.  Not just the normal dull ache I live with almost constantly, either.  They are pounding, nauseating, deafening headaches.  I hate them.  And twice now this week, I have had the “ocular migraine” that sometimes goes along with the pain.  It makes a little flashing in the corner of my vision that moves across the whole field of vision, getting bigger as it goes , until it disappears.  I guess I am going to have to give in and see the Dr. about this!! I can’t live like this much longer!!!  :(

Technology at it’s best…

Posted on September 17, 2009

So, we are in the check-out at Walmart.  We have groceries and other items and two 50 lb bags of dog food.  The cashier is running everything through and then she grabs something and comes around the counter and in her hand she has a wireless barcode scanner.  She simply scans the UPC code and goes about her business.  We never even had to take the dog food out of the cart, how cool is that?? I think every store needs these handy little gadgets!!  They make life so much easier!! :)

So I was thinking…

…I know, I know, it’s a dangerous thing, for me.  :)   Buster and I cannot take the mini vacay we were talking about taking this fall now that pumpkin_seed has started school, but I’m thinking Spring Vacation is looking good for one.  But, I wonder….Can  I get better travel deals if I go through a travel agency as opposed to “looking for deals” myself??? I mean, that is their job, after all. to get me the best deal on the best vacation, right??  They know all the ins-and-outs and such.  Ah…the possibilities….

Tempt My Tummy Tuesday (Pupcakes)

Posted on September 15, 2009

My daughter LOVES to help me in the kitchen.  She also loves to do things in the kitchen by herself.  Pumpkin-Seed has been making cakes since she was about 8 years old.  Boxed cakes, that is.  But she has been making them from start to finish for about 4 years now.  Someone gave her a cookbook a while back called  “Kids Cake Mix Magic”.   It’s a book full of recipes you can make with a standard cake mix.  One of the recipes is for these adorable Pupcakes.

DSC01305

PUPCAKES

  • 1 (18 1/4 oz ) package chocolate cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare per directions
  • 1/2 c.  (1 stick) butter , softened
  • 4 c. powdered sugar
  • 1/4 – 1/2 c. half and half or milk
  • Red and yellow fruit roll ups
  • Assorted colored jelly beans and candy-coated chocolate pieces
  1. Preheat oven to 350°.  Line 24 standard  (2 1/2 inch) muffin pan cups with paper liners.
  2. Prepare cake mix and bake in prepared pans according to package directions.  Cool cupcakes in pans on wire racks 15 minutes; remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
  3. Beat butter in large bowl with electric mixer until creamy.  Gradually add powdered sugar to form very stiff frosting , scraping the sides of bowl occasionally.  Gradually add half and half until frosting is of desired consistency.
  4. Generously top cupcakes with frosting.
  5. Cut out ear and tongue shapes from fruit roll ups with scissors; arrange on cupcakes, pressing into frosting as shown in photo.  Add candies to create eyes and noses.

We didn’t have the yellow fruit roll ups so we used those milk maid caramels that look like tootsie rolls and flattened them out , that worked really well.  Really, just use your imagination, lots of different things could work!! Have fun!!

“Fastin”

Posted on September 11, 2009

Remember when any drug that contained Phentermine HCL was pulled off the market because it was dangerous??  Well, Fastin was one of those drugs.  But now the pharmaceutical company that made that drug has put it back out on the market.  WITHOUT  Phentermine HCL.  They say it is now safer to use, but works just as well as the original, now using  phenylethylamine HCL and derivatives of this molecule. My question is, will they have to recall this in a few years??

God’s Promise…

This is our family picture we used for our Prayer Card.  We have a Prayer Card because we have recently gone into full-time Christian service.  We are serving as missionaries at a Bible camp for youth.  A lot of great things lie ahead of us here at the camp and your prayers would be greatly appreciated.

If you could have God’s promise that YOU would go right to HEAVEN when you die, would you take it??

Let me show YOU how YOU can have This Promise!!

ALL HAVE SINNED

ROMANS 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one.

ROMANS 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.

GOD’S PRICE ON SIN

ROMANS 6:23 A For the wages of sin is death.

THERE ARE TWO DEATHS

REVELATION 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

OUR WAY OUT

ROMANS 5:8-9 But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

GOD’S PERSONAL PROMISE

ROMANS 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Take God at his word and claim His promise for your salvation. Bow you head right now and sincerely ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and to save your soul. Saying a prayer does not save you!! You must believe what the Bible says and mean it in your heart to be saved!!!

ROMANS 10:9-11 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture sayeth, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.

Once you are eternally saved, you are always eternally saved…

HEBREWS 13:5B…for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

If you have read this and accepted Christ as your personal Savior, CONGRATULATIONS on getting that taken care of, you’ll be so glad you did!! Please leave your name in a comment so that I can pray for you !!! And also find yourself a good, Bible (King James) preaching Church where you can grow in your faith!!

God Bless!!

If you don’t need this message, but know someone who does, feel free to link them to this or just tell them about the blog post!! It is important that every person get this taken care BEFORE it is too late. We often think we have all the time in the world, what’s the rush?? My son was killed in an auto-accident at 10 (He asked the Lord to be his Savior when he was 7)!! We have no guarantee of how long we have on this earth, we need to spread the word!!

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!!

Tempt My Tummy Tuesday–EASY!!

Posted on September 08, 2009

Like I said last week, I like easy!! And yummy!! Easy doesn’t work if it doesn’t taste good, ya know what I’m sayin’?  This one uses a boxed macaroni and cheese and it doesn’t get much easier than one of those!! AND this is a microwave meal!!  :)   Anywho, here it is…

Chicken ‘N’ Cheese Casserole (in the microwave)

  • 1 package of your favorite macaroni and cheese
  • 2 (6 1/2 oz) cans chunk chicken
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 small can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 T. dried onion flakes
  • 1 1/2 c. chicken broth
  • one small can fried onions
  • 2 T. butter
  1. Combine first 6 ingredients in a 2 quart casserole; mix well.
  2. Microwave 16 minutes, covered at 100% power; stir twice during cooking time.
  3. Let stand 5 minutes, covered.  Stir in the 2 T. butter and mix well.
  4. Top with fried onions.  Heat another minute or so to warm onions, if desired.

This casserole can be varied by using mushrooms with tuna and substituting the cream of chicken with cream of mushroom soup. OR by using cream of celery soup and ham chunks!! :)

OK, so at some point during the move, the computer desk chair got busted.  It was one of those nice leather jobby’s too!!  Oh well, such is life.   Let me just say that office chairs are not cheap!! But you can get them relatively inexpensively if you do your homework!! That’s why I went to the nice people at officechairsoutlet, cause they know how to treat a lady!! ;)
