I got this recipe from my MIL.  At first, I thought it sounded totally gross, but once I made it, there was no going back!! It makes an awesome chocolate cake that is VERY moist!!

 

Without further ado, I give you…MAYONNAISE CAKE

 

What you will need:

2 c. sifted flour

1 c. sugar

1/2 c. cocoa powder 

1 1/2 t. baking soda

pinch of salt

3/4 c. mayonnaise (mom always uses miracle whip)

1 c. cold water

1 t. vanilla

 

Directions:

Sift dry ingredients together into a bowl.  Make a whole in the center of the dry ingredients.  Add mayo, cold water and vanilla.  Beat together until smooth.  Pour into a greased and floured 9×13 pan.  Bake at 350° 25 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted int he center of the cake comes out clean.
