Laura hosts Menu Monday for us every Monday. This isn’t a new thing for me, I was making my menu’s for a month in advance, but now I do it weekly. Sometimes we get busy and I end up making, something else, so if you see something on here from last week, chances are I didn’t make it when I thought I would. OR I did, and my family wants it again!!
Monday~leftovers!!
Tuesday~beef stew, rolls, salad
Wednesday~spaghetti, garlic toast, salad
Thursday~ rice casserole, rolls, salad
Friday~probably have dinner at camp, could be anything ~~ with salad 
(sry i couldn’t resist)
Out Of The Blue…
Posted on April 13, 2009Just out of the blue, the other day, Buster says to me….When we sell the house, we should go on one of those Orlando vacations. I’m like really?? You think so? He says yeah since we haven’t ever really gone on a vacation before, we should. I reminded him of when we went to the UP a couple years ago, He said helping friends clean up their campground for the upcoming season doesn’t count, even if we stayed their cabin for free!!
Yes, it’s very sad. We have been married 16 years and we have never been on a vacation. We never even had a “real” honeymoon!! So, after we sell the house (hopefully in the next few months!!) and we get settled in, we are going to take a vacation. Of course it won’t be til next winter probably because, really, who wants to go to Florida in the summer, I mean really!!

Well, we did it. We put the house up for sale. We went with the same lady who sold our last house. Mostly because she had the old one listed, sold, and closed from start to finish in 10 days. Yes, I said 10 days. So, we are hoping to not have this one for sale too long, either!! Say a prayer or two for us that we can sell it quickly!! Thanks 
Although I will miss this house, I am glad to be moving on and starting anew. I can’t wait to see what God has instore for us in this new “adventure”!!!!

Posted on April 08, 2009I have been looking for great deals on everything from laptops to corn nuts and I haven’t really felt the love, to be honest. Until now. Like pretty much everyone I know, I love a good sale. But what if you can get good stuff at good prices everyday??

This week’s recipe is (drum roll please)…
CHUNKY POTATO SOUP (this is a family fave)
What you will need:
3 med. red potatoes
2 c. water
1 med. onion
3 T. butter
3 T. all-purpose flour
crushed red pepper flakes (to taste)
black pepper
3 c. milk
1/2 t. sugar
1- 2 c. shredded cheddar cheese (we LOVE cheese, so we use closer to 2)
1 c. cubed cooked ham
What to do:
Peel potatoes and cut into about 1″ cubes. Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan. Add potatoes,; cook until tender. Drain, reserving liquid. Set aside potatoes. Measure 1 c. of the cooking liquid adding enough water to make 1 c. if necessary; set aside. Peel and finely chop the onion. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat. Add onion to saucepan; cook, stirring frequently, until onion is translucent and tender, but not brown. Add flour to saucepan; season with pepper flakes and black pepper to taste. Cook 3-4 minutes. Gradually add potatoes, reserved cooking liquid, milk, and sugar to onion mixture in saucepan; stir well. Add cheese and ham. Simmer over low heat 10-20 minutes, stirring frequently.
YUMMY!!!
Tuesday’s Tribute…
Posted on April 07, 2009Today’s Tribute goes out to the snotty nose little brat that gave my little girl the flu (whoever you may be)!! I mean, what did she ever do to you?? Huh?? Didn’t your mother ever teach you to wash your hands?? Or cover your mouth when you cough? Or sneeze into your frickin’ elbow? Huh? Well, didn’t she???
Of all the things you could have given her and her little 70 lb 12 year old body, you gave her the flu!! Like it wasn’t bad enough she only weighs 70 lbs, you went and made her lose 5 more!! People just don’t even teach their kids a little thing called manners, anymore, I tell ya!!! I mean wouldn’t the common cold have sufficed?? Nooooo, you had to give her the flu!!! Not only did she miss 3 days of school, but she didn’t even get to go to Church on Sunday, of all things!! For the love of Pete!!
For the sake of all that’s good and right in the world, keep your germs to yourself next time please, or at the very least, give them to the little jerk who sits in the corner eating is boogers all day!!! Thanks for nothin’ kid!!

Posted on April 06, 2009As you may or may not remember, I recently wrote a post about losing weight. I also have talked about diet pills. Do they work?? Are they safe?? Which one should I try, if any?? Well there are several options. One of them being Lipovox. My question is, how do you know which one is going to be right for you??
I think this varies from person to person and would implore each person to talk to his or her Dr. individually about it. Your Dr. knows your health history (blood pressure, allergies, sensitivities, etc). I might be surprised, my Dr. might say to just get off my lazy duff and do something and I’ll drop 50 lbs right away. Well, a woman can dream can’t she???

Cup of Tea
One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me.
I was maybe 2 1/2 years old.
Someone had given me a little ‘tea set’ as a gift and it was one of my favorite toys.
Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I
brought Daddy a little cup of ‘tea‘, which was just water.
After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.
My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of
tea, because it was ‘just the cutest thing!’
My Mom waited, and sure enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for
Daddy and she watches him drink it up.
Then she says, (as only a mother would know…)
‘Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to
get water is the toilet?’

Posted on April 02, 2009OK, so I am finally ready to really get down to business and lose weight. I’m just not sure where I want to start. I have tried pills before but haven’t found any diet pills that work. I have thought about Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig, but both cost quite a bit of money every month, which I don’t have. I have lost weight in the past just with diet and exercise, but not sure if I can do that this time around. Mainly because of my age and the fact that I have had a hysterectomy, which I have heard makes it difficult to lose weight and keep it off due to hormone imbalance and that sort of thing……anyone have any ideas?? HELP!!!

Today’s photo is another one I found on pumpkin_seed’s camera the other day…she is at home from school today, sick. She was crying this morning she hurt so badly. My head hurts and my arms hurt and my legs hurt, she told me. I told her to go back to bed. But I want to go to school she cried. She went back to bed after taking some Tylenol Jr. She has been there most of the day 
At one point her temperature was 100.5, not terrible, but not good either. I hate it when she is sick and there is nothing I can do Fell better my darling!! Love you!
Everyone do me a favor and say “Hi” to her and make her feel better…kthnx!!
