this was in response to another post on a friends blog that i thought was worthy of posting here, it has been added to a little.
well said …i think, as humans, we are somewhat prone to murmuring and complaining. there is a Bible verse that says, and I am NOT quoting here….something about in all situations or circumstances choosing to be content.
i’ll have to look that up…hang on.. now i am quoting!! Philippians 4:(11) Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. (12) I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. (13) I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
these are principles i try to live by, and fail miserably at most times. some of you know my history (being abused by the very people who were supposed to protect and love me) and those of you who know me very well at all know that i am not one to dwell on the past or let the past hinder how i live my life now. i am thankful for every blessing God bestows upon me from my husband and daughter that i can enjoy every day to my son who i know is in heaven whom i will see again some day soon and will spend eternity with. from the air i breath to the clothes on my back. from the Church i am a member of to the Bible i read everyday. there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for!!!
