gggrrrrrrr….i watch a friends children for her while she works. she brings them in their pj’s. does not feed them before they come, doesn’t even have her oldest go potty before she brings her. i have to have her go potty, feed her and dress her almost every morning. i used to have her 4 days a week but now that the moms mother isn’t working i only have her (and her baby sister) 3 days a week. when they are at grandmas i think they must get away with everything because they are becoming more and more unmanageable , that’s what we’ll call it. just whining and attitude, oh my word, the attitude ( the oldest is 2, but good grief!!!). i have them from 7:15 AM til at least 3:15 PM sometimes later….never later than 4PM. I get paid $20 a day. ggggggrrrrrrrrrr…i am feeling very unappreciated and very underpaid (especially for what i do)!!!!!!!!!! i am trying to venture out and get a better job because what i make now isn’t helping much with bills. i am just so frustrated. **throws herself down and sobs** i am looking into paid blogs and maybe mystery shopping/demonstrations. i think those kind of jobs, where you do something completely different every time, would be right up my alley!! i get bored easily. anyway, glad i got that off my chest! anyone else ever have similar problem with being under appreciated and/or underpaid ???
About Me
I have been married to Buster, since 1993. I am "Mom" to three precious gifts from God. My daughter, 'The Girl' is 15 (going on 25 lol). She is beautiful, opinionated, head-strong, smart and loves God. My son, Lil' Buster went to heaven when he was 10 (car accident in 2004). He was all boy but adorable, tender-hearted and loved God. And one sweet baby we never got to meet is waiting for us in heaven with Lil' Buster.
I am wife, mom, lover of coffee, lover of all things pink, purple and/or sparkly, lover of chocolate, and did I mention coffee? And sparkles? Oh, and I also kinda adore blogging... :o)

wow!!!!! i’d ask for a raise!!!
i have, thats part of the problem, too…with her mom to watch them and other people (who shall remain unnamed lol) who will do it for dirt cheap, why does she need to pay me more…i told her…no one will take care of them, love them, cherish them like i do…because i pretty much drop everything when they are here to care for them and be with them but its all about the money to her. its sad!!! i will miss them dearly, but i cannot keep watching them if i cant pay the bills……
This “FRIEND” is paying you $2.50 an hour to give loving quality care to her 2 year old and baby……… would she provide the same kind of care for two lil ones for the same amount of pay as your getting now? I strongly suggest you pray about this and listen to what your loving God is saying, this it is not about the friendship, it is about being realistic and fair. Personally I would give her a notice that your done as of this week. Then with the other issues your having use your free time now to get in the word more, spend quality time with your own daughter and enjoy LIFE with out being committed to lil ones all day for $20. And as you see or here of other job openings that apeal to you then apply and free yourself up incase God opens that door for you. If this gal gets upset that your letting her children go, and it comes between your friendship then there wasn’t much of a freindship in the first place. we were told last sunday in church by our Pastor that makes alot of sense, I want to share it with you now -
people treat us the way they do because we ALLOW them to!
if we want to be treated diffrently then we need to make ourselfs clear, set boundries, and consequences if the boundries are crossed. It is called respect, and in return we need to respect others with their boundries etc.
sounds like it is time to sit down and have a heart to heart chat with your friend and make it clear what your exspecting from her, this childcare job, and where the boundries lie! As long as you ALLOW her to (use you) pay you $2.50 an hour to care for her 2 children she will, and if she can get care for them for less so be it. she can not appreciate you or miss what she still has……. and so what if your $60 less a week with income, cut out the fun stuff ( fast food, pizza, using extra gas to run places not needed etc). Sure it will cramp your style for a bit but you will get used to the change soon and feel so much better also. GOOD LUCK!
I’m afraid blogging for dollars is pretty much a myth. A handful of folks may be making a living from their blogs but that’s all. I’ve never heard of anyone making a dime writing for others on the web. Supposedly people will pay for content, which is what the search engines like, but I’ve never actually met anyone that earned money that way. Lots of folks will say they’ll pay you, but collecting, well, that’s another matter.
I tend to think mystery shopping is some sort of hustle too. If not, why isn’t everybody doing it? It sounds great. That flies in the face of the first law of the jungle, ” If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”
If you find something that will actually pay and can be done in your own time and in your own place, please let me know!
thanks mom, you always let me know when im doing the right thing or NOT. I have talked to her and it does NO good. i think i just need to finally put an end to it. i have a few things lined up already and i know we will be fine. God always provides! thanks again!! lvoe you….
greybeard…i have already done one paid blog AND received money for it. my husbands cousins fiance is a paid blogger and makes about $100 every other week, and that is for doing it “very part time”. so maybe you haven’t found the right ones???? anywho, thanks for the response…keep in touch!
paid blogging can be very, very successful – it’s all about how the person markets themselves/pleases advertisers, etc.
